Off to google again.Buddy of mine got "aplha gal syndrome" from a tick bite a while back. Had never heard of it until then. Bad business.

Once, I pencil/napkin designed a chicken coop for a skeptical friend whose home was on ten acres with about half that pasture. Tubular metal frame, heavy wire overlaid with chicken wire, wheels, with a spiked retractable skirt that would penetrate ground. He could add lockable wheels to his hen house and tow the lot around his pasture, providing his chickens a fresh patch of ground every so often, and allowing the previous placement to recover. It was tall enough to walk around inside without having to be stooped over. His threats were raccoons and foxes (this was a few decades ago; I suppose now, coyotes would be a factor). He liked the idea but professed that he wasn’t interested enough to make the investment in constructing it.Too many cats around here for chickens to have a chance. Besides, chicken is one of the few things I can still eat.
