No one was depending on him for this season, dudes tape was absolutely incredible! His raw athletic is talent is MOSS like. I was just as excited for him as I was Mike Matthews. I knew his route running needed work, and you never really know about a kid's work ethic, still am not questioning it.If you were depending on Leacock anyways it was a huge issue.
Every single team is going through the exact same situation that we are. And I guarantee very few of them have the same type of NIL support. Sky is not falling.Be that as it may, losing 3 depth pieces for the playoffs (for which they cannot be replaced by a transfer) is not nothing at this point either.
Nathan Leacock out today along with Chas Nimrod and Kaleb Webb.
What is going on and should we be concerned or is this a way for us to free up spots for incoming transfers?
Christmas list:We need to hit the portal for a couple OL, maybe one DL, and a speed WR....
I didn't say the sky was falling but that's 4 exits before our playoff game in the same position group, like I said, it's not nothing. I can't imagine drinking the level of kool-aid some of you do that you can't admit obvious things.Every single team is going through the exact same situation that we are. And I guarantee very few of them have the same type of NIL support. Sky is not falling.
I mean how much he’s got on the field should tell you something. He’s either not good enough or not getting the opportunities he needs to. Either way he’s better off elsewhere.I think Leacock could have been a solid starter even if it wouldn’t have been until he was a redshirt junior. It doesn’t hurt you right now to lose him but it hurts you a year or two from now.
But I’m not Kelsey pope and idk how he was progressing. I did hear that he was showing improvement though.
Yep, Lot of time players just out athlete opponents in HS and get a unwarranted 4 Star rating. Sometimes they play in a weak part of their state get great numbers and press. They have the 40 times and the numbers height and speed wise. Then they get to college and you either have "the it" factor, or you don't. Getting separation from College DBs and for that matter especially SEC DBs is different. Do you have that extra work effort to get better or have you always just showed up and put up your numbers,People panicked when we lost our secondary last year but it ended up being an upgrade. I will say our WR core has struggled at times this year.
I don't know what the ESPN take is of our offense, and I do realize we're primarily a running team, but I also see that we don't normally sub within possessions, and it seems a lot of games we don't have many receivers rotating in. In no way is that a criticism of our coach. And, it's my view that none of these three guys were instrumental in our offense, and they may feel they could be somewhere else.omg, yes we do rotate WRs. you really have to stop with the ESPN lazy of a take about our offense.
the only issue with our offense is that we don't throw it that much, and when we do we typically have longer completions than even the top passing offenses.
We completed 10 or more passes to 5 of our wide receivers.
5 of the Top 10 passing offenses completed 10 or more passes to only 4 of their wide receivers.
2 others completed the same number, 5.
2 had 6 with 10 or more catches
1 had 8, and that was North Texas.
I am going to see if my thread from last year is still around that I can bump.
The writing on the wall is that Brazzell and Mike will be our top two receivers for the next two years. And Squirrel will be #3 next year. Leacock and Webb want more reps but don’t feel confident in beating out Staley and others. Nimrod thinks he’s talented enough to be a top target somewhere else. No reason to panic. They see the writing on the wall. Derpel's offense has been solved and now they are like rats are jumping off the sinking ship.
