This class desperately needs some OL...

If Kerbyson is playing either tackle position at any point next year then something has gone very wrong. It is a great class, but it still needs a Left tackle...we got a couple on deck. Butch has done nothing to make me believe one of them won't be on our roster next fall. BTW it would be great if none of the 15 recruits really matter to next years line as some of you have stated, but we aren't there yet. Half of next years freshman o-line class could have a spot in the 2 deep.

Half (of the current four)? Agree, EE's Jones & Hall unfortunately Hall's still recovering from an Achilles injury and will be RS imo. Barring injury neither Boulware or Stewart will be in the two-deep to start the season. jmo

I think something that we may want to consider in our discussion of the OLine needs is that we went into the 2014 season with a whopping combined 6 starts for our OLine. Oklahoma had 107, S. Caro had 113, Bama had 37, UGA had 54, FL had 66, OM had 61, MO had 72, Ky had 74, VD had 83, Iowa had 62. The 2015 Vols should enter the new season with 71. That could be a huge difference. I think many have recognized some improvement over the course of this past season, significantly more improvement with the long rest prior to the bowl game, and it may be well within reason to expect continued improvement over this off-season. I'm cautiously optimistic that the staff has a plan and is executing that plan. IMO, we really didn't have to play freshmen on the OLine this past year. I think the reason we did was as an investment into our future and we'll see how well that pays off when Dobbs, Hurd, & Kamara are looking for creases this coming fall. We may be virtually unstoppable and I do think there's a plan for Blair. Right now we have by my count 85 scholarships spoken for on the 2015 roster. If we're going to add someone new we've got to let someone on board right now go and as far as I can tell Butch never exceeds the 85 at any given time. Personally I don't think Allen is waiting on UGA. I think he and a number of others are waiting on Butch and Butch is overflowing with bricks. jmo.

Things could change, but IMO you are spot on. VQ's comments support it as well. Any flip flopping that could occur relates to Blair not getting it done. If that happens Kendrick rolls in and Kerbs could end up back at LT if the don't like Kendrick there.

Butch has said all year that Kerbyson is playing out of position which is natural is Guard. If, and its a big IF, we have talent at OT, he will move.

The championship game made it even clearer to me that we need to sign 6 OL in this class. We have 4 excellent additions committed, and need two OTs to make the 2015 OL class as great as the DL commits. I'm still hoping that we get both Allen and St. Louis.

We are fine at Gaurd. We need OT's

Numbers are fine there but they still need to improve the talent at Guard in a big way IMO. Still way behind the elite programs from that aspect.

If they lose Boulware and miss out on Allen, this will be another very disappointing OL haul IMO.

Agree as well. No way around it. The talent level on the OL must be upgraded to compete at a consistently high level.

Speaking of I like Stewarts play, and he's got a bit of mean streak to him that I like as well.

Does anyone feel we can get some quality OL. Time is running out and we only 4 and only 2 of them are 4* other two are a 3* and a 2 *. I think this is probably one of the most talented class that can only be compared to Peyton's class but we got needs for the OL. Does anyone feel like we can get 1 or 2 more quality OL?
