We won the Natl Ch in 1967 before we lost to Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl 26-24. True story. You can look it up.

Go to Wikipedia , type in 1967 Tennessee Volunteer Football team. The last sentence says "at season's end Tennessee was named national champions by Litkenhous. Also, you can go to Edward Litkenhous, and search 1967 football natl champ.

I was a student at U.T. at the time, and Litkenhous named the nat. champ at the end of the regular season. Unfortunately, we went on to lose the Orange Bowl 26-24 to Oklahoma, who was named nat. ch. by some organization after the bowls. I don't make this stuff up.

Come on, you've been on here for 2 years so you should know how this works. But just in case, here goes:

UT beats Oklahoma. Now based on that:

UT beats Bama because Oklahoma beat Bama last season.

Thus, UT will beat both UGA and UF because Bama beat UGA 2 seasons ago and UGA has beaten UF 2 seasons in a row.

So, using VN logic UT will go 4-0 against those teams.

You forgot some. Alabama beat Ole Miss, so we'll win that game. UT beat USCe which beat Mizzou. So we will beat Mizzou. Mizzou beat Vandy so we will beat Vandy. Vandy beat Kentucky...well, this isn't a stretch for anyone to beat Kentucky.

So the only wild cards on our schedule are Utah State, Arky State and UTC.

Arkansas State lost to Auburn in 2010 who lost to FSU who we beat in the NC Game, so we're at 11-0

And UTC lost to UT Martin which we beat, so 12-0.

Playoffs here we come!

This is where I'm at. Sure, all logic points to the team struggling with the challenging schedule, overall young players etc. etc. But, eff logic. Our boys need to believe in themselves and that comes from the fans believing in them. But this fanbase is snake bitten and continues to embrace the suck instead of looking forward to a promising future. When the boys rolled out in the gray unis for South Carolina they had 100K+ fans in the stands and 2-3X that watching at home believing they could win, and they pulled it off.

I'm as logical and reasonable as anyone, and I've developed as many teams and units as anyone on the board. I understand there is no logical argument anyone can make to guarantee a win against Oklahoma, Bama or anyone else. I also understand people have a hard time handling the disappointment they feel after a loss, so they have to argue for why we are going to lose and then rest in the fact they were right. I also think many of our fans are afraid of feeling positive after big win because they believe it probably won't last long. These are coping mechanisms, but unfortunately, they are self fulfilling prophesies.

Just remember, logic doesn't always win or lose games, and a loss will not be the end of your existence. You can handle the disappointment without having permanent damage to your psyche. So, stop embracing the suck and start believing.

Rant over, go ahead and lay out all the reasons why I'm delusional and idiotic and have a nice day.
