How about we wait until we start playing conference games against each other and then come back and address this question?

So we can't draw any conclusions from the first three games? Our right side of the oline will be strong next year? Maybe become decent by November?
Worley is a good qb? I love the guy. Hurd is going to be very good but maybe not chuck Webb or Jamal? Maybe Arian or Travis henry level. Thought he would be faster but should have known better with his size.
Aj,reeves-maybin,Randolph, and sutton are all star level. Our defense can be really,really good this year.

I believe we are better than 12th and haven't had the chance to show it yet. If OU doesn't choke like in the past, I believe they will move to the 1 or 2 spot and could win the whole thing. I think LSU/A&M/Georgia will be the best in the SEC. I don't see Auburn getting through that schedule without a couple losses. We can hang with USCe and Florida.

Also, I think we seriously have a good chance at upsetting Bama at home. We won't face another Striker on the ends all season so our line will hold for a second longer for Worley. And our defense can lock down Bama's suspect offense.

We make the top 25 this year, I'm calling it now.

Based on conference wins, yes. We don't play A&M/Auburn/LSU. If we beat Florida, USCe, Kentucky, Vandy, and pull an upset between either Bama or Mizzou we go 5 - 2 in the conference and 9 - 3 overall. After the way we played OU, those are definitely winnable games.

Right now I'm not sure where I think we shake out as to where we stand, but I can say this for sure it is a better feeling waiting to see us play now than it has been. It's a feeling of anticipation now that this team is moving on up.GO VOLS

Beliema was a much better hire than people want to admit. Arkansas is going to beat a couple of big boys this year. When David pollack said we were a bottom tier sec team, why were folks upset? There are 9 teams in the ap top twenty five. Would the bottom four not include vandy,Kentucky,Tennessee and Arkansas ? Miss st, Florida,Missouri, and Carolina are in the second tier? Bama,aubie,Uga,Aggies,ole miss, and lsu in the top tier? This is a brutal league and I see nobody with less than two losses.

Until UT proves otherwise, yes, #12...#11 at best at the moment. Does that mean they cant upset the higher teams? No. They just have to do it. They did it last year with SC and darn near with GA. UT is a #12/#11 that makes other teams butts pucker because they see the talent starting to amass. UT has been THE top team before, so that's what scares them most.

That's thinking with your heart and not your head. Bottom line is THEY have to prove what their pecking order is...it wont be decided here.

Correct. And UT was a handful of plays from being in a tight ball game with them in spite of the struggles on the OL.

So how do you out of the other side of your mouth say that people shouldn't be upset about being called lower tier?

Wow! After lurking for so long and then to start posting, I wonder why I am still amazed at some of the VN posters but I still am. Quit drinking the orange kool-aid and go to shots of Gentleman Jack and maybe you will be able to see clearer. We are what we are till we prove it on the field. Our chances are coming up soon to show the fans, the media and the SEC WHERE WE STAND IN THE PECKING ORDER. IF WE GO OUT AND WIN THE GAMES WE DO NOT HAVE TO HAVE THESE STUPID POST EVERY 3-4 DAYS. Let's root for the boys and hope they win. Lets go bowling this year and enjoy the resurgence of our VOLS. GBMFO!!!

I will admit that I do a little of both.

However, after a lot of football watching, our defense can hang well with the SEC offenses that we play this year. If our offense can get the ball into the secondary and capitalize with points, we can definitely win some games. Considering the 5 sacks and ridiculous hurry up throws against OU, Worley still had 201 yds and almost 50% pass completion.

Who at the moment are we better than in this league? I think ou is the most complete team we will play. We are better than vandy and probably kentucky. Remember there are eight ranked teams from the league and that doesn't include miss st or Florida. To get out of the lower tier with kentucky,vandy and Arkansas, you must put Florida or miss st in there. Are we better than them?
