Our offensive line is the biggest detriment to this team .... the secondary is a close 2nd. Regardless of recruiting, that has to matter.Trey Smith wanted to play for Butch Jones. Darnell Wright wanted to play for Pruitt. Doesn’t make them good coaches. Can you point to a player Elarbee has recruited that is starting on our OL? Or even looks good in rotational work?
Not nearly as pathetic as some of our fansHonest question is there a single good assistant coach on this team besides Elklear/Gardner/abeln?
Hazle trash
Banks trash besides maybe this year
Sims can’t land a recruit to save his life
pope Wr seems to not get any separation
Elerbee only one elite Prospect in 4 years.. line not great with most of his players
Inge-TBD
Willie… need I say more
I’m slightly inebriated, but my God most of our coaching staff is pathetic
B Winners like Jeudy, Chase, Cooper, etc have transitioned nicely to the league.I’m not saying they didn’t do anything.
Have any of the others they’ve been coaching exceeded expectations like that 3 star? Even the 4 stars starting out?
I really don’t think so, so I’m not really giving them to much credit.
The ole saying: you can’t coach speed.
Hyatt could run by opposing DB’s for a TD 3-4 times a game against almost anyone we played.
The coaches don’t get credit for his speed.
All NFL DB’s are fast, all college ones not.
Sure I’m sure he did his job. He coached him .B Winners like Jeudy, Chase, Cooper, etc have transitioned nicely to the league.
Pope coached Hyatt as well as possible for his abilities, IMO.
I think he coached him up even for college. Yeah, he's little like that little Smith speedster from Bama, who has done fairly well in the NFL.Sure I’m sure he did his job. He coached him .
Why can’t yall comprehend NFL has nothing to do with how good a player was in college.
Hyatt was a skinny speedster coming out of high school, 2-3 years of weights and practice turned him into a player that could get off jam by the DB at the line and blow by them down field .
Well you’re probably gonna be surprised that I think the recievers are doing better than most on here give them credit for.I think he coached him up even for college. Yeah, he's little like that little Smith speedster from Bama, who has done fairly well in the NFL.
I think Pope did a great job with Hyatt AND Tillman and I'll grant that our receivers just aren't getting separation this year.
In part, there's no time in the pocket to get that separation and in part I think Heupel likes the routes to be pretty simple and D co-ordinators around the SEC have figured this out.
I agree with Jonathan Crompton. When will Heupel allow the offenses nuts to fall. He’s babying Nico and it’s hindering the offense. These aren’t my words but a guy that played the game as QB in Neyland stadium.Heupel is in a hard place he is growing as a coach which is not easy. Look what Kirby Smart went through at UGA or Beamer hell or even Pittman. It is a lot that goes into this kind of Job at time Heupel was tooo aggressive when he first got here now he is trying not to be. It is difficult to grow on easily one of the hardest jobs in the planet
I think it was that Nico and the O Line weren't prepared for the defense (similar to what OU used) that was a "new look we weren't expecting from the film we'd seen" per Josh Heupel's post game presser.Well you’re probably gonna be surprised that I think the recievers are doing better than most on here give them credit for.
The people problem in the Arkansas game wasn’t that they didn’t get open,
The O line didn’t give Nico any time on half the plays and Nico was bad. He missed on open ones, threw it to the wrong one, didn’t see others.
Seems like the same thing was said when Fulmer starting losing some games. I still think you have to have the Jimmies and Joes who have experience to win 90% of your games. Very few College teams have been in that situation. We have holes in our Oline and an inexperienced QB. TEs have been sporadic in their play. I thought, going into this year, we would have a pretty good team, but not one which would end the season in the playoffs. I had thought 2025 would be the year we would be able to field a team which could be in the playoffs. Nico will bw bigger and more experienced. The Oline will have talent and again have some skilled players. The secondary will be str9onger and more experienced nd the running backs will be bigger and more experienced. After the first 4 games, I began to think that we might be better than I original thought, but it appears we some other teams are not as strong as I thought preseason. Alabama and Georgia seem to have a few problem and they have recruited better than we have over the past 4 years. Vandy seems to be a much better team than anyone thought, Botha on defense and the QB [position. Texas seems to have more talent than the rest of the SEC. They have a stockpile of QBs as well as goos talent at both the O and D lines. I now thin we will probably go 9-3 or 8-4. We can not overlook Vandy this year.I think Heupel’s loyalty to his friends will be his greatest weakness. Definitely some under performing groups.
