This is how Sarah Palin is destroying the McCain campaign

CBS has more Palin video

Gov. Palin at Monday’s event in Columbus, OH: I do look forward to Thursday night and debating Senator Joe Biden. We are going to talk about those new ideas, new energy for America. I'm looking forward to meet him too. I've never met him before. But, I've been hearing about his senate speeches since I was in like 2nd grade.

Katie Couric: You made a funny comment, you've said you have been listening to Joe Biden's speeches since you were in second grade.

Gov. Palin: It's been since like '72, yah.

Katie Couric: You have a 72-year-old running mate, is that kind of a risky thing to say, insinuating that Joe Biden's been around awhile?

Gov. Palin: Oh no, it's nothing negative at all. He's got a lot of experience and just stating the fact there, that we've been hearing his speeches for all these years. So he's got a tremendous amount of experience and, you know, I'm the new energy, the new face, the new ideas and he's got the experience based on many many years in the Senate and voters are gonna have a choice there of what it is that they want in these next four years.

This stuff is painful to watch, yet I'm drawn to it.

Latest video from Couric's interview with Sarah Palin. I am stunned at how awful Palin performed. She is astonishingly stupid in her answers. In the end, it will be McCain's pick of Palin that ultimately destroyed his chance to win. She is abhorrent. Forget all her supposed experience, just watch how she conducts herself. Most of the morons on Volnation (myself included) could do better than this. For the record, I don't hate Sarah Palin, I just can't believe he picked this woman. Watch the video.... the transcript doesn't do it justice.

Grasping for the straws again , huh:p

Not LBJ? I thought Kennedy actually had plans to draw down, and LBJ reversed them.

Regardless, I know he escalated the Space Race, and did a few other things people have remarked about (other than his assassination, of course) including:

Creating the Peace Corps.

Creating the Alliance for Progress.

Advancing Civil Rights (protecting black students who want to attend college, addressing discrimination of women).

Implementing the Nuclear Test Ban Treaty.

Giving the West Berlin Speech (precursor to "Tear Down this Wall")

If you get down to the root of the problem it was the French that got every thing started in Vietnam.

I do believe JFK was going to push Vietnam but nothing like LBJ did.

That bastard fought the war from the White House. The blood is on his hands.

no it isn't. She has been a governor, and a very popular one at that, for quite some time. There is plenty of record there from which to glean what she does as an exec.

Why all your wasted air on the R VP candidate and the dearth of similar questions regarding the main guy on the other ticket, who is even less qualified.

Your opinion. My opinion is he is far more qualified.

She is a joke, BPV, and you know it. The reason she didn't answer the questions very well is because she didn't know the answers. She isn't the most informed person on earth and definitely not informed enough on major issues to merit being a VP. If this country elects McCain/Palin, it is hard proof this country has been going through a "dumbing down" trend the past eight years.

But someone who says there are 57 states, has associations with known terrorists and racists, has no experience, wants to institute UHC, talk with the leaders of Iran, wants a WPT, and so on is informed and the most qualified to be PUSA? No double standard there.

This country is not going to elect McCain/Palin. The race isn't even close anymore.

so what do you think of Biden, who thinks President Franklin Roosevelt, in 1929, addressed the nation on TV regarding the Great Depression?

He meant to say 1939. And it is hardly the same thing as being completely uninformed on most of the major issues facing this country.

You are comparing a gaffe to genuine ignorance. Typical right wing republican move.

Yeah, that is the only reason. It couldn't be that people are sick and tired of government and she almost seems human for a politician.

:eek:k:

You are exactly what you despise.....

Funny isn't it?

:hi:

pretending that Obama knows any of the answers is just foolish. The guy has simply been campaigning longer.

Sounds like he might be a better candidate?

Better candidate?

I was so glad to hear Michele is happy to be a American now. I wonder if she will be if Messiah Obama doesn't win the race? I don't even want to get started on Rev. Wrong..

And the hits keep coming

Appearing on CBS Evening News, the Alaska Governor seemed calmer than she had been in previous sit downs. But while she only occasionally provided the type of befuddled responses that had even conservatives scratching their heads, her interview was nevertheless shaky.

Asked what newspapers and magazines she reads, Palin - a journalism major in college - could not name one publication.

"I've read most of them, again with a great appreciation for the press, for the media," she said at first. Couric responded, "What, specifically?"

"Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me all these years."

"Can you name a few?"

"I have a vast variety of source where we get our news," Palin said. "Alaska isn't a foreign country, where it's kind of suggested, 'wow, how could you keep in touch with what the rest of Washington, D.C., may be thinking when you live up there in Alaska?' Believe me, Alaska is like a microcosm of America."

Actually, I thought she did much better in this interview than her others. Still, gotta be able to answer basic questions like "what newspapers and magazines do you read?" Either she could not think of any, or was she refusing to answer the question? Fascinating!

Roosevelt's lone TV appearance in 1939 was at the World's Fair and had nothing to do with the Great Depression.

Biden is genuinely ignorant, thanks for picking up on that.

you're reaching. the economy doesn't walk into a housing meltdown and Obma struggles mightily to win an election that he should win by 20 points.
