This is how Sarah Palin is destroying the McCain campaign

To borrow a little from Lloyd Bensen, Sarah Palin makes Dan Quayle look like Jack Kennedy.

Interesting. Your attack on JFK in this context is that he cheated on his wife? That's it?
that's it. I think nothing of the guy, but don't really have much to say. I find the Kennedy clan an awful crowd and it starts with Joe, but JFK cemented his legacy by being assassinated.

how can one actively do something by passively having something done to them?

had JFK not been killed, he likely would have been a 1 term President who's sole distinction was nearly getting everybody killed in a nuclear exchange with the Russians.

he does deserve credit for being a democrat and understanding the Laffer curve before it was known as the Laffer curve.

Okay, so maybe I was wrong about Sarah Palin, at least according to this editorial in Forbes magazine. Thoughts?

Why Regular Citizens Matter - Forbes.com

What's clear is that the results of the vice presidential experiment are already in. Palin, the "regular citizen," is running a flawless campaign. Biden, the man of "prudence" and "experience," is making a fool of himself two or three times a week.

So, the fact that we avoided a nuclear disaster with JFK at the helm means, what, he was lucky, or that it was his fault? I'll take nearly getting killed over getting killed.

I guess we don't have to give the Bush administration any credit for not having another terrorist attack on US soil then. So, using your logic, what will Bush be remembered for? Let's see, wars without end, mission accomplished, bin laden still on the loose, guantanamo, wire tapping, economic bailout, housing market debacle, recession. Oh wait - No child left behind!!

Whew - I was starting to think he'd be advised to quickly find and employ today's LHO.

aren't you one of the whiners about changing the subject? Why does everything have to become a referendum on GWB, who very few here support in any way.

Bush's legacy is relevant to the case laid out by MG1968 for discrediting JFK.

I would think that there's perhaps a different legacy about JFK than MG's.

Borderline obsessive with Palin?

How many threads have you posted about her?

NOT is a moron, he's trying to hid the fact that his messiah has less experience that she does. of course you'll never hear cbs or nbc asking hussein obama any tough questions.

You're perfectly correct, it wasn't all his fault. But a large part of it was.

thanks for proving my point that, other than the Cuban Missile Crisis, JFK was a thoroughly unremarkable President.

although, since you've typically turned this into a referendum on Bush and mentioned "war without end" bear in mind that it was Kennedy who escalated the Vietnam Conflict. JFK has the blood of over 50 thousand US military on his hands.

I found that it is actually hard to write like that. Good job on the parody :p

Not LBJ? I thought Kennedy actually had plans to draw down, and LBJ reversed them.

Regardless, I know he escalated the Space Race, and did a few other things people have remarked about (other than his assassination, of course) including:

Creating the Peace Corps.

Creating the Alliance for Progress.

Advancing Civil Rights (protecting black students who want to attend college, addressing discrimination of women).

Implementing the Nuclear Test Ban Treaty.

Giving the West Berlin Speech (precursor to "Tear Down this Wall")
