This Is Now Freak's Admittedly off Topic Night Before Red Team Thread

Makita makes a good one. Dewalts product have gone downhill. I haven't used much ridgid equipment only there shop vac but it is a good one.

I used the crap out of a Dewalt when I was in Iraq. But that was a while ago.

My dad swears by Ryobi

I'll check Makita

Not much difference in the two, would probably go with the Dewalt though.

Those were just two that looked decent. I really just need something to cut crown molding, but apparently some of these handle crown cuts differently. I need to do some more research I suppose.

the smaller Craftsman actually does well on molding. little hobby job, but it works pretty well

Really?

From what I can tell, it seems like the size of the crown molding can have an impact on which saw is best.

It does. Smaller blade is generally better for delicate work. Larger blade tends to rip more

Just remember to cut the crown upside down.

Hey guys. How's everyone this evening? I'm so excited about the game tomorrow that I can't sleep. :pepper:

According to what I've read some of the smaller blades (or maybe the deck?) won't work for larger moldings.

Pretty good man, how are you? I can't wait for the game. I want to hurry and go to sleep so it'll get here quicker, but i can't sleep either lol.

You never sleep. I don't sleep much and you're on here later than me and have usually already posted when I wake up. You can't get more than 4-5 hours sleep most nights, if that.

Kerf blade?

I haven't picked it out yet but probably 4-5 inch range, I'm guessing.

Thin kerf. Thinner blade, cuts a but better. I put one on my small miter saw and it works great for delicate jobs.

Some crowns are too big and wont lay right in the saw. Some crowns could be taller than the piece the back of the crown has to lean on. Just make sure the saw/crown you get will work with each other.
