Butch & his staff are too close for him to let any go > they'll get to winning soon I'm sure....in two more years.

The only thing we can hope for is to continue to get younger and get Butchs players in here to change the losing culture.

It's this simple. Our program has been bastardized for at least 6 years and it shows against teams that has not been. We lost to a team today that won 3 games last year and fired its coach, but they have had great recruiting classes the past few years (thanks to 2 of our coaches) and we must grow as a program to get back to where we belong.

There will be no more coaching changes anytime soon...if there is, we will be committing suicide as far as a program. All of us that are frustrated with our team have to be patient and let this man (our coach) do his thing. We don't have a choice at this point. Be a true fan and hold on for the rough ride that is still ahead of us. We are at least 2 years and a lot of big recruits away from getting back to prominence. Just hang on.

We don't need any coaching changes this year or next. Asst Coaching turnover has gotten us in this mess.

What we need to do is to FIRE SOME SO CALLED
KNOW IT ALL FANS.

The risk of keeping this DC may be greater than the risk of changing again.

Notice that Jones said it was the COACHES' JOB to put players in a position to be successful. I've been getting slammed for saying that very thing....

People said the same crap about dools after each lost..

Bottom line is he better start winning thats why we hired him he can love tn all he wants but if he loses to candy his support will take a huge hit ..

I for one say no bowl than he his no better than dools n his record will represent that.

Funny....talk big behind that computer, go paint the rock.

I agree!! He needs a new DC!!

You would.

Butch is faced with some tough decisions to make.

Texas will be the only tough decision he would have to make. He has a plan and it will be on his timeline not yours.

The risk of keeping this DC may be greater than the risk of changing again.

Really? I expected more than that statement out of you.

this site sure makes for some humorous reading. It is like Wheel of Coaching - I'll take a coach without a J please Pat.

I totally agree. He was fired by Georgia for a reason. What looked like good numbers last year in Cincy were a joke, the highest ranked offense they played last year was 45th, most were around 80th and 3 over 100, thats not counting the 2 1-AA teams. All this talk of upgrading your talent, replacing the slow guys we currently have, shouldnt we upgrade our DC if we can? The time is now, theres a ton of NEW talent coming in and with a new DC we'll start fresh.

Patience people, patience. Rome wasn't built in one day. No program can survive this many coaching changes in a handful of years combined with this schedule and run the table.

No one is asking them to run the table.

Simply showing up against top 10 teams would be sufficient.

Sweet Jesus. Jones is playing with a bad team. That's the reality. We are not good. The win against SC gave people a false impression of our talent level. We are right where we thought we would be at the beginning of the season. Butch is our guy. Log of the computer and put all this time complaining into something productive. Go play with your kids or grandkids. Call your mom and tell her you love her. At the end of the day its a bunch of 19 yr old kids playing football. I want them to win as much as you. But get a grip.

I don't know about that. I was relatively happy with Wilcox, and felt his defense would only get better, as recruiting improved. He had nothing to work with on the DL, except a bunch of DE's forced to play DT. Janzek has more to work with, IMO.

But too often against Mizzou and Auburn...we didn't even have a defender within 5-10 yds of the ball carrier, until they were 20-30yds downfield. THAT is a deficiency in coaching...not team speed/talent.

There were a ton of plays where we just flat out ignored Marshall...even after he gashed us and gashed us. THAT is coaching...or should I say, a lack thereof.

I don't know how in the world CBJ can go into the offseason and honestly answer the question "Have I tried to hire the best Defensive and Offensive Coordinator possible to Tennessee" and feel good about bringing Janzek with him, rather than use the big pot to bring in a PROVEN DC (against top level talent/teams).

If your watching the Miss St. game your seeing a team actually COMPETE. Solid coaching, playing with some passion, executing some against a more talented team. Not ROLLING OVER.

The final score will probably be even more lopsided than now but Texas A M hasn't been able to completely relax and their coaches start thinking about pulling the starters and pumping the breaks.

UT's last 3 opponents were certainly more talented but they all shouldn't have easily cruised to blowouts.

And: Vandy beat Florida, just thought i'd add that

Exactly...proving to be a decent DC in the Big East is a different matter than being successful against SEC teams (ie. hiring Ellis Johnson...who was available after one bad season as the HC at South. Miss...before CBJ started putting his staff together). Ellis Johnson had a sound track record as a DC and Butch went with his bud, rather than a proven commodity.

What chaps me off about it, especially, is that Hart gave CBJ this big pot to go out and outbid other colleges for top level assistants. Instead he uses that pot to give his buds a nice fat pay raise.

Kind of like being given money for a Lexus by your Dad, and you instead get a Chevy Malibu + pocket the difference. Hart overpaid, believing CBJ meant he would look high and low for the best prospects....when all the while he really meant to just bring his Big East staff

So, we should just keep an assistant Coach because of turnover? Yep, makes perfect sense. Nevermind the fact that he may not be worth his weight as a coach. But, hey if it gets the recruits in......... and we will wonder, why oh why we suck.
