2022 Alabama was cute. But nobody really took us seriously. And in many ways we confirmed we weren't a real national title contender when Georgia dominated us later that season. And nobody has really taken us seriously this year despite beating Alabama. Some of that has been our doing as we've been very inconsistent on offense.
All that changes tonight. We're gonna play our best game of the year and it'll be in Athens under the lights against a team everyone says will beat us cause they're backs are against the wall. Our ascent to the top of college football starts tonight. Should be fun. If you wanna make an easy buck take Tennessee on the moneyline.
We have a good football team but not a great one. We are not playing anywhere near championship football. We have an OL that’s decent creating a running game but still has problems in pass protection. We have an historic running back and a good RB room.
Our receivers can’t consistently create separation and get open. We have a redshirt freshman QB who has yet to earn his NIL money. We have two very good TEs.
We have a DC who is not getting paid what he’s earned. We have been an elite defense until tonight. They are a borderline championship defense…with the exception of our secondary, which has played poorly far too often. Tonight, they were carved up.
Our DL, as good as they are, got pushed around some tonight. I didn’t see much pressure. We limited them on the ground but we didn’t put the Fear into their QB.
We continue to be out-recruited. We are not using the portal to its maximum benefit to us
(see Ole Miss on how to do that.) I see some signs of solid player development but not across the board.
Lastly, I am not sure we have a championship coaching staff. I believe they were once again outcoached tonight.
Oh. We seem to have a great punter.
Just what I think I see from where I sit.
