Alabama played us evenly, on our home turf! Our Football Team did not beat Alabama's Football Team! Our Neyland Stadium Crowd beat Alabama!
Alabama would beat Tennessee, on a neutral site, about 8 out of 10 times -- maybe 9 out of 10 times! Remember the off-sides penalties that the Neyland Stadium Crowd created for Alabama? If you take all of that away, we might lose by a couple of touchdowns!

Our Vols played like a high school team against South Carolina. How many high school games did Alabama play -- NONE! Alabama paid respectful in all of their games -- and, Alabama's offense blew up Tennessee's Defense, on our home turf! I think Alabama lost their 2nd game, away from home as well - by only 1 or 2 points, and, their game was competitive to the very end.

Tennessee's Defense has been embarrassing for most of the season -- I don't care how good our Offense has been ! You should have to play on both sides of the ball to be in the College Football Playoff. Let's face it -- this year, we were not ready to be in the College Football Playoffs -- but, if we get our Defense figured out -- we might get there in about 2 years! I don't see our Defense making a transformational 1 year miracle for next year -- but, we can always hope. Josh Heupel has proven he can coach Offense, but, he has not yet proven he can dominate on the Defensive side of the ball in the SEC. To be a complete Coach, Josh Heupel will have to dramatically improve on Defense. If we don't dramatically improve on Defense, we will regress in 2023, with a worse record than this year!

Also, remember -- our Vols were not competitive against Georgia either! The final score of the Georgia game was not an indication of how badly we were beaten! So, two very bad losses, neither of which we were competitive in, was the straw that broke the CFP Committee's Back, in not being able to support us!

I am not trying to create an argument -- but, just providing a realistic assessment for everyone with "orange colored" glasses! Go Vols!

The rules were changed after the fact.
The committee didn’t have a “you can’t get your ass kicked” rule.
But they just decided that our loss in Columbia was so horrifying that a new rule must be made.
that rule pushed us behind Bama in their rankings.

What about our 2nd embarrasing loss to Georgia ? The final score of the Georgia game was not indicative of how badly we got whipped ! The Georgia game was not a competitive game, to be honest !

I would just say that Tennessee’s losses were both bad. The one against SC is unexplainable.

Hey guys - No, I am not a Troll! Even though I have only 9 posts -- I was around in the 1990's -- when the first Vol Board opened up, which was called Gridscape! I do believe that Peyton Manning was screwed out of the Heisman! And, I do believe that Ohio State is loved by the Media! Maybe we can find some common ground. I posted my actual thoughts on this tread! I just think we had 2 embarrassing losses --- one of them would have been OK, but, 2 of them is unacceptable! And, even though I hate Alabama -- I respect the fact that they had no embarrassing losses. And, if the shoe was put on the other foot -- and, Tennessee had lost 2 games, by a total of 4 points, I would be going ballistic, supporting our Vols! I would be telling the Media - that our 2 loss Vols, is better than a 1 loss Ohio State! That is Alabama's gripe -- and, I support the SEC over Ohio State, who play's a very lousy schedule compared to Alabama! Go Vols!

I don't understand the logic behind Tennessee fans starting threads to downplay us beating a hated rival for the first time in years, then keep posting that we sucked in another game. Google the word fan, cause you're doing it wrong.
