How does coaching have everything to do with this loss? Auburn is faster than us on offense, defense, and ST. There's nothing the coaches can do about that. Our safeties/LBs have no idea how to play the read option which is why Marshall is having a field day.

Wtf are you talking about? If they don't know how to defend a certain offense then that is squarely on the coaches. I agree coaching will not make them faster but good coaches would at least have them in the proper position.

Unprepared for a 3rd straight week, maybe time to except the fact we are a bad sec football team with big east level coaching

That may turn out to be that case as some critics allude. On the other side, those who have...faith...that CBJ is the answer. He'll get a chance to prove one of them wrong.

You can have talent but without proper coaching, it won't matter. Until we have SEC caliber coaches we will be losers.

Auburn has come in to neyland and will end up hanging 62 on this team. There is no excuse in hell for that. This staff has been outcoached and im really starting to think they have lost this team. What will be the excuse for vandy? Or can we call that one straight up too?

The ST fiasco is totally on Butch. He's mostly in charge of it, and I've never, ever seen us suck this bad on ST. Not even when Daniel Lincoln kept kicking the field goal attempts into the chest of fatbody DT's.

I still feel Butch Jones will get this program moving in the right direction eventually, but this game...he flat out put on a ST clinic. A clinic for opposing teams to study...how to beat our a$$es and put the game out of reach before we know what hit us.

NFL teams have struggled with dangerous Kick Returners...and they either kick away from the guy, out of bounds. Plain and simple, they keep the ball away from them. CBJ wasn't smart enough to do that today, and it cost us the game.

We could have made a game of it...but the ST's kicked our arses. Janzek's inability to make adjustments to shut down Marshall was also telling. I don't know that more talent will help any, if the coaches themselves are clueless.

They're taking Butch's Brick and smashing us over the head with it!

Dooley had no luck. Jones has had a little bit of luck. Besides, that, I see no difference.

Butch is a great snake-oil salesman, while DD was anti-social.

Talkin' a good game isn't the same as performing on the field.

Yeah I'm venting! So what?!

You sound confused. Venting or not. CBJ is in a catch 22. No matter what he says a fan will spin it negatively. He states the truth and all fans want to do is spin it.

If he were to state this team has got 10 to 15 players Of SEC caliber. Fans would argue with him...

Auburn ran 7 pass plays and one was a pick 6. Great special teams and D coaching today. No doubt we looked slow but defense still takes horrible angles, cannot tackle to save their lives, and makes poor reads. At some point a lot sooner we should just clear the bench and see who can actually play on this team. Offense played little better but not much. Put up what 16?

Are you kidding me? Uga had speed and talent and both jancek and martinez were both **** canned
That's been my worry from the get-go. Martinez is supposed a good DB coach, so we'll see. But I simply feel like Janzek is over his head in the SEC. He was at UGA, despite all the talent he had at his disposal. and he is proving to be only an average DC.

The thing that get's me is, CBJ was insistent on having his staff follow him. I can't necessarily fault him for that. But conversely, look at Auburn. They hire Ellis Johnson...who did a masterful job at SC...with average SEC talent.

Jones had first chance to get him...and he chose his bud, instead. One was fired from an SEC job, and the other excelled in the SEC. Hmmmm? Not a smart choice.

Randy Shannon was at TCU, as a LB coach. He has a distinguished record as a DC. Auburn hired Rodney Garner for their DC (known to be a killer recruiter). Jones hired his bud.

I am not sold on Bajakian, either, but considering the QB quandry, I'll try to give him a pass. But twice in this game, he has tried to throw to the outside to Pig Howard...who is 5'8." It's a low percentage play, all day. It's against the laws of physics to try and lob a ball over a taller defender to a decently covered midget.

The law of averages would dictate you use the BIG WR's you have on your roster, for that playcall. This is why I sound like a broken record about our not playing our BIG WR's.

If we HAD tried to lean on our BIG WR's we probably could have pulled out the UF and UGA game...and made the games against Mizzou and Auburn much more competitive.

After we blow the first runback (off a punt) on ST, we should have started punting the ball out of bounds, and any KO's through the endzone. This score is 80% ST fiasco.

Who exactly will be kicking the ball through the end zone? You can't make something happen just because you want it to.

Bottom line is this....We saw that they had a dangerous return man/game. We got snake bit early. Instead of trying to steer around the snake, we kept trying to reach and grab it. Ended up getting bit over and over and over, until we are lying face up dead, as a team.

Bonehead coaching today. No other way to spin it...sorry. Butch could have kept the ball away from the return men, but he thought he knew better. Malzahn took him (Butch) to school. Hope he 'learnt somethin' :ermm:
