Ticket Prices Are Dropping

CFP committed REALLY missed a golden opportunity here.

The CFP gets the bulk of the $ for the tix.

Unsure of the face value on these you guys are grabbing for $200 or so.

I'm pretty confident that the lowest face price on a game at Neyland could have been 5 bills and still would have sold out

Cost themselves a pretty penny with preferential treatment to the Suckeyes.

On a personal level, I was really looking forward to a game in Neyland. I should be arriving in East TN sometime Thursday afternoon for the holidays. Thought for once fortune was shining on me, but alas it was not to be.
CFP actually did the right thing and said they weren’t going to gouge prices. Face is cheap for all the games this weekend

I'm honestly shocked at how low ticket prices are honestly. With the current prices this game is cheaper than our games with Bama, Georgia, Vanderbilt, Oklahoma, Florida, and Kentucky. That is insane and would have never have happened in Neyland. For non season ticket holders, you would actually be able to hit this game cheaper than if it was in Knoxville....

Current Stub hub Ticket prices after fees in B with unobstructed view 190 each. Plus tickets keep falling.
hotels.com rooms around 20 miles away with 7.8+ ratings for around 80 a night.
average gas from pretty much anywhere in the state 100.

For those on the fence, do it. Its our first playoff game. Its the first time playing at OSU. For every VOL in the stands its one less buckeye.

Vulnerability time. I’ve been a die-hard UT fan since I was 8 or 9. My whole family bleeds orange, so I was born into it. Cut my teeth as a fan during the Fulmerian decline and then suffered through the dark years. I can remember ho-hum (from my perspective) wins against Shula’s Alabama teams, sweating bullets before UF and UGA games, the Wilhoit kick, the frustration of two losses to Cadillac Williams in one year, the agony of 2010 LSU, and the glory of the Dobbs nail boot. I went from scouring the News Sentinel on Sundays to scouring VN with embarrassing frequency for many periods over the last 15 years (used to have another account I lost the password to).

Despite my longstanding fandom, I’ve never been to a UT game outside of the O&W game one year when I was ten or so, and working concessions in the upper deck for a Bama game for a high school fundraiser. I have never taken in an actual Vols game in person. Parents weren’t big on going to…well really anything with crowds, and I moved out of state pretty early on in my young adult years.

Been in Ohio for just over half of the past decade, so this is the non-conference matchup I’ve been craving more than any other. To see the Big Orange—my Vols—in the Horseshoe, in Columbus, the first place I lived outside the Knoxville metro, would be pretty special. Like many of us, dropping Christmas gift money on tickets just isn’t an option. I’ve been waiting with bated breath to see if they’ll go low enough for me to justify it to myself. We shall see. I’ll make it to a game in Neyland someday though, even if it’s just East Popcorn State.
Someone who is going and has a spare throw this fan a duckat

Can we set up a Go Fund Me Page for you so that you can go and root for the Vols??????

how many tickets would you need and what price would get you the green light?

Or they are counting this game as a win.
I think they are afraid of being embarrassed. As they should be. Go Vols!
Ps. I paid $75 for my ticket to the 98 championship and when we got to the stadium they were selling tickets for $5. We talked to several people at the game that said a lot of businesses in Tempe gave tickets to employees and they were selling tickets and giving them away.
I cant believe a play off game didn’t sell out. Especially with all the controversy. Maybe because it’s so close to Christmas.

I was just telling a buddy the other day I'd rather be caught dead than go to Ohio University (the college football subreddit Buckeye fans made me utterly despise their program several years ago. Like damn near Bama level hate.) I'll be damned if this isn't me this morning:

If it wasn't for the seven hour drive..........

Not many folks in Ohio seem to be excited to see Ryan Day coaching. Wonder why after getting humiliated at home by their rival.
Probably has more to do with fans assuming this will be an easy win and saving their money for the Rose Bowl. Gotta remember that these B1G fans and teams have some weird obsession with the Rose Bowl.
BCS was delayed till 98 due to the Rose Bowl getting the Pac and B1G to hold out. BCS having a championship game that was a different game than the big 4 bowls rotating it was delayed due to the Rose Bowl getting the Pac and B1G to hold out.
Having a 4 team playoff was delayed due to the Rose Bowl getting the Pac and B1G to hold out.
Once a 4 team playoff was agreed upon, forcing 2 games to be played on NYE when most people are out partying was due to the Rose Bowl getting the Pac and B1G to hold out until their game was guaranteed to always be on New Years Day.

If anyone is looking for a ticket, my wife bought one in section 2A row 37 last week and paid well over $400 after fees. She's unable to make it now, and we're trying to resell it. She has it listed for $300, but I don't think it's going to sell at that price so if a Vols fan is looking for a good seat with 2 other die-hard Vols fans let me know what you'd be willing to pay. We know we're gonna take a loss, but trying to mitigate that as much as possible. Either way, we'll feel better about it if it's going to a Vols fan.
