Tickets for NIT...

this was in tKids email:

As this game is controlled by the NIT, tickets are not managed the same as true home games. Subsidy from an outside vendor is covering cost ($4 per student ticket) for the 1st 500 students in the Student Gate. That means the first 500 students will get in free. Additional student tickets will be sold at the Student Gate for $4 each. Cash will be needed to purchase these tickets at the student gate.
Tickets for non-students are $10.

Regarding seating locations: Sections 103 and 107 are reserved seating, but the rest of the lower bowl is open seating. Gates open at 6:30pm. Come early and get a good seat almost anywhere you want!

This may be a dumb question, but where is the ag campus?
If you head over the bridge on Andy Holt (heading west, away from Morrill/Swimming Pool/etc)

Basically, it is "the other side of the tracks" between the railroad tracks and Neyland Dr.

Well that explains it. Sec 103 will be reserved for the AD - players families and the big donors who don't want to fight for seats w the peasants. That's why the girl at the Tennessee Fund had to look up my level before she could give me an answer on how to get tickets....

When i go I sit LL and buy of scalpers but I'm not coughing up the 10 grand or whatever it is donation plus tickets.

I'm glad youre so well off though.

And wouldn't you be miffed if you forked over that kind of dough and couldnt get priority on tix to an NIT game.

No.

I'd go stand in line 90 minutes prior to the gane to get a good seat like every other fan. I wouldn't think I was better than the rest of society, jmo though.

Out of curiosity are NCAA games only available to LL donors first? Or general public?

You just say that because you aren't one of them.

NCAA tickets are filled based on donor priority.

I don't think so, but I'm not in that position so I can't say for sure.

I know a few very wealthy people and none of them act that way, but maybe they are the rarity.

Hmmm..NIT brings out a little class warfare. Just enjoy that, for a game, you have the chance to see a game like you had some real $$$. A chance to sit in seats where the players look bigger than your thumb size. GBO cheer on the boys in Orange.

That's very out of character.

Sluggish ticket sales?

My buddy went down to the ticket office and purchased his this afternoon and they told ticket sales have been "extremely slow". Hopefully it picks up tomorrow. I don't think most LL season ticket holders will go since getting there early is sort of a requirement for LL seats.

I would imagine most people will buy tomorrow. No reason in paying the process fee with online orders.

Act what way? What are you talking about?

You saying the big money(wealthy folk) are too good to wait in line. That is probably the truth though unfortunately with many of the big donors.

I was simply saying I know a few wealthy people who aren't that way at all. They would go and stand in line at 6:30 with the rest of the fans without thinking twice.

I guess everybody is different though.

There are a lot who are older and just don't care that much to have to wait in line. Especially if it's on TV.
