Tickets for NIT...

I'm with golfballs here, even though I never shell out the money required for getting these perks. Have/had tickets to 24 sporting events this year (18 Carolina Hurricanes, 3 Vol football, 3 Vol basketball), and only twice have I bought lower level tickets.

I can enjoy the game just fine from the upper level. But if I'm shelling out the money for lower level season tickets, I'd sure as hell not want to deal with everything associated with my usual cheap seats (including not getting priority)

I think the small window of time from announcement to tip off had a lot to do with the ticket distribution method. Two days is not enough time to deal with ticket distribution priority & guidelines.

Not since most of the other NIT schools are still adhering to priority seating.

Love the festival seating. Makes for a much better atmosphere than allowing the blue hairs to sleep in the lower level seats

My bad.....you said "most" schools, but you only checked out one school?

I checked a handful and all of them were doing priority seating. Based on the sample, it's safe to say that most schools are doing the same.

I saw this dude sitting in your seat golfballs. You might want to bring some 409 with ya next time to clean the slime off...

I happened to talk to someone at UT who actually knows... he said the decision to do general admission is not at all the result of any NIT policy. There is no NIT policy on the matter. He said it's just the fact that there are so many seats to fill and so many season ticket holders but such little time to do ticket disbursements that it's just not practical. Makes sense to me.

Carry on :hi:

General admission? So if I get there early enough I can choose to sit in a luxury box?

I think this is BS. They should honor the season ticket holder and donors.

When we go to the NCAA tournament they go by priority, why not here too!?

Actually, they did keep a section open for the "major donors", mostly empty seats as the major donors decided not to attend the first round. They finally let us lowly season ticket holders and the general public sit in that section as the game was about to start. The ushers were very rude to fans, as most couldn't understand how general admission, first come-first serve didn't actually mean that. Unfortunately, I was one of the fans who didn't understand and had a healthy conversation with two ushers. The University should not advertise general admission if there are actually reserved seats.

I agree. It was for the top ~1,000 on the donor list. Which is crazy because even those just outside of that are forking over a fortune every year for tix

Yes, but Seton Hall was selling tickets for a 2,400 seat arena, we were not.

True, but you are obviously misinformed regarding "NIT Policy". That's what I thought was bogus when other schools were doing priority seating.

It was clarified to me as a "strong suggestion" from the NIT because of the size of the arena and the number of season ticketholders. It's a "soft policy" for the Tuesday sites. Iowa, Mississippi State, Arizona and Ole Miss also used general admission for the same reason.

I'd love to know who you talked to.
