Congrats Tiger Woods...

Elin and I are thrilled to announce the birth of our son, Charlie Axel Woods, who was born on Sunday February 8, 2009. Both Charlie and Elin are doing great and we want to thank everyone for their sincere best wishes and kind thoughts. Sam is very excited to be a big sister and we feel truly blessed to have such a wonderful family. I also want to thank our doctors, nurses and the hospital staff for their personal and professional care. We look forward to introducing Charlie to you at the appropriate time, and again thanks from all of us for your kindness and support.

Tiger

born on sunday. Suppose they put him in a black diaper and red t shirt?..

I wonder if he will be grandfathered in or if they will have to add a lottery pick to the draft this year to see which race picks first?

That was without a doubt one of the funniest Dave Chapelle bits of all time.

And tell me about him skipping! Went to the Mercedes my senior year in college and he skipped it for the first time!

has anybody actually missed Tiger?

Um...yes! And how dare you to suggest that someone may have not? Seriously, there is the tour with Tiger and then there is the tour without him. The latter looks more like the minor leagues than the big leagues.

Not my point, but ok...like volintheatl said, the tour along with the Golf Channel, CBS, NBC and ABC have all greatly missed Tiger. Which leads one to believe that several people may have missed him. Or, maybe my logic is flawed.

my bad. haven't missed him and I think the Ryder Cup was probably better off. I know that sounds crazy, but it gave them a reason to believe they were the underdogs.

i was just talking about this yesterday, with a buddy.

i'm in the middle. i think it helped the Ryder Cup team too. i think it's also been great that guys have been given their moment in the spotlight instead of talking about how Tiger blew it, why he's playing bad, etc.

the media coverage upon his return is going to be insufferable. i can't even imagine the attention he'll get at The Masters. i'm curious to see how having two children will affect his personality.

on the other side, he's the face of the game today. clearly him playing well is good for golf.

Well we were certainly better off to have seen a Ryder sans Tiger. It did the viewing public good to see that there many Americans with game. We lose, maybe I think differently though...

That being said, I absolutely want Tiger on Pres Cup.

As to the tour... PGA is fantastic without Tiger. But the majors need his presence. The energy he brings to them is unparalleled...

I would be so bold to say that in these events, Tiger is bigger than the game. Its not us watching to see who will challenge him, but rather how will he challenge himself.

there's a story here with Tiger overcoming more surgery, new kid and will his putter be the same. The day his putter starts the slide like Tom Watson's, he's a mere mortal. His has remained the best for a very long time and I'd bet it doesn't last forever.

The day is coming when he doesn't make the bombs and final curler he did at Torrey for US Open crowns.

the question is when though.

sure Watson lost his stroke and never won a major after he was 34, but on the other side, Nicklaus won the Masters at 46.

i don't think it's unreasonable to think that Tiger can win 5 more majors in the next 13-16 years.
