Time to bring Nikki Caldwell home?

I agree for the most part, but if Burdick gets as many minutes next season, then I'm done with Holly.

You don't enjoy watching Cierra making the 3 Goggle when she hits her second three of the season against Alabama because they backed off her, figuring she wasn't a threat?

Unfortunately, Holly may not have many options at the wing, unless Jones gets significantly better or Nared is ready to play the minute she puts on a jersey.

Do you all support a Lady Vols coaching change? I know LSU lost 3 times to the Lady Vols in close games. But it seems Caldwell is overachieving with the team she has.

I think sky is the limit with the resources at UT for her. I believe she could sustain a constant top 5 program at UT. We may be slip, slip, slipping away. Now may be the chance to get her and move forward.

Thoughts?

About 18 months ago, I thought the same thing but with Holly leading us to a 75% winning average last season and an S.E.C. Championship in 2014, I am not so sure that Caldwell could do better.

An S.E.C. championship is not an easy task as it once was. Ken lucky is much improved and South Carolina is also much improved as programs.

I say we should keep Holly........ No we aren't going to national championships but we are putting together very respectable teams.

As far as beating U Conn, no, we aren't beating them, but who is beating them????? It isn't that we are bad, bit it is that U Conn is just that much better than the other teams.

I beg to differ...the jury is still out on Jones and Warwick. Another 5 -7 football season or no bowl game...I'm starting a fire Butch thread!:salute:

Give me break, or better yet please increase your generous donations to help pay for all the buy outs.

Well you may as well have it in your mind to begin the fire Butch thread. Because 5 - 7 is a reality for next season.

New offensive line. Most likely a new q.b. New defensive line. Many, many, many freshmen playing at key positions.

Wins: (5) Chattanooga, Arkansas State, Kentucky, Vandy & Ole Miss

Losses: (7) Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Missouri, Utah State Oklahoma.

Your not gonna get fired going 29 and 6 and winning the SEC Tournament plus making the sweet sixteen. Of course we should have went farther but crappy play is every other game for this team. Holly needs to recruit some shooters and some players that can at least make a pass or I expect two more years will be it for her.

I would rather Tennessee hire Matthew Mitchell than Nikki Caldwell

The guy that keeps flaking out at the Elite 8 and Sweet Sixteen Round. The guy who closed the talent gap with Tennessee and yet only won 1 SEC title with this outgoing group of seniors (Stallworth, Walker, Evans, etc.)? If my option is Mitchell vs. Holly I take Holly.

I would rather Holly stay at this point in time. However,if Holly had to be replaced I would Like Mitchell or Dawn Staley be the next LadyVols Head Coach.

At the appropriate time for a coaching change, Kara Lawson is the call to whom Dave Hart must place.
No coaching experience, but a wealth and diversity of playing in her portfolio. Instant respect from players and recruits coupled with a competitive nature would be a dynamic mixture for success.
Would she be interested?

You will see improvement starting next year now that Simmons is gone. When she was on she could be great, unfortunately she was off more times than she was on, and she absolutely killed the team at numerous times. Book it.

But.....but......but......she's a Lady Vol for life, and she has been 24/7/365, and she is going to be drafted, and........

I guess I thought ballou's post about starting the fire Butch thread was tongue-in-cheek. :dunno:

I spend so much time on the football and basketball forums that it seemed pretty tame.

I can't believe people are blaming Simmons when she had twice as many points as the rest of the starters combined.

If you want to blame someone, you might want to start with Carter...or Burdick...or Graves.
