Time to see how the team responds.

Those mentioned coaches wouldn't have went after him, either.

Comparing Lofton to Scotty is crazy. Beyond crazy, actually. But if it has taken Bruce this long to realize his approach isn't working, then his issues are two-fold. One, he needs to question his recruiting ability. Many, many, many people knew Scotty's shortcomings. Pearl should have known what he was getting. And two, he needs to be able to adapt. You can't coach each kid the same. But anyone with a pulse could see that Scotty needed the proverbial fire lit.

And I think that's true as well. It's really beyond the breaking point which should have been last season, not his junior year.

That's the biggest problem today with coaches and players- no accountability.

Players will play to the expectations of a coach and if a coach makes idle threats he's going to lose the player's respect.

Completely agree.

Winning is the best deodorant, though. Players may sulk and appear to lose interest. But when programs win and players get paychecks at the next level, rest assured the coaches certainly get the respect.

Did you read what I wrote? All I said in a nutshell was define mental midget. Scotty is like Lofton in the sense he doesn't take criticism well. That is the only similarity. However, Scotty's problems are much worse than that. He is a mental midget when it comes to criticism but also a mental midget when it comes to pretty much every facet of game. Not a good combo.

Lofton took criticism pretty well. The biggest issue with him was not coming from coaches.

"Coddled" criticism maybe. Bruce said he would never yell at Lofton because he took it to heart and allowed it to affect his game.

We've learned what taking Bruce at his word does, haven't we? Or no?

Oh yeah, I forgot you know all the dynamics of the team and players. And that would be a perfect thing for Bruce to lie about. Sorry.

Is he really the one presuming to know the dynamics of the team and players? You're the one explaining to everyone why Pearl's handling Hopson in a certain way and claiming to know how Lofton handled criticism.

So would a barbecue.

I'm telling you, the worst thing that came of Lofton getting criticism never came from a coach. Dude was a gym rat and Pearl's handling of him didn't matter.

Can you show me where I explained why Pearl is handling Hopson in a certain way? I said it's dangerous to handle someone as mentally weak as Hopson with public criticism.

Did I claim to know how Lofton handled criticism or did I cite the coach the coached him for 3 years?

Yeah comparing recruiting violations to something about a player is really a good comparison.

Bruce has seen that nothing he has tried to do to motivate Scotty has worked consistently since he has been here. So he criticized him publicly and was a drill sergeant in practice.

Lofton was this way. Pearl wouldn't ever get in Lofton's face no matter what he did wrong because Lofton would let it affect his game.

That should answer both your questions.

A compulsive liar knows no bounds.

But go back and look at games during Lofton's years. Let me know how many times you see Lofton mope back to the bench or back on defense.

So has Bruce not tried everything up until being a drill sergeant?

And did Bruce not always say on his radio show that he wouldn't yell at Chris because of how he reacted?

Got anything better than that because once again you failed to show where I acted like I knew the dynamic of the team and players.

That's exactly what you acted like. If you can't see that, that's sad. Also, to all these statements you're making, I have yet to see a link or proof. Funny, I thought that was a prerequisite for you before posting any information.

Only about well-known and established facts.

I have "well documented internet rumors" to prove my point. That's all that matters, right?

Once again, show me where I acted like I knew the dynamics of team and players.

I already did. You certainly presumed to know much more about the dynamics of the team than NYYVol did. That's why I accused you of being hypocritical. Not tough to understand for most people. Well, nevermind.

So let's get this straight.

Me saying that Bruce has tried pretty much everything with Scotty and is now being a "drill sergeant"

and saying that Lofton never took being yelled at well according to his Coach is acting like I know about the dynamics?

Sounds about right.
