Time to see how the team responds.

Not diminishing anything. It's called reality. But, go ahead and pretend that tonight was some kind of incredible performance.

Once again where has anyone said that? Until you show that, your argument fails like usual.

Where on earth did I say it was some incredible performance? Like I said, stop playing these little games. The kid played well tonight, I'm able to appreciate that, I'm sorry you cannot.

He played fine. Tvols acted as if this was some kind of big accomplishment. All I did was put it in perspective. Sorry you weren't able to comprehend that.

Be glad to.

Going to bed shortly though.

Yet after each game Scotty's performance gets dissected. Why?

Because he's inconsistent. Yet we still have folks expecting him to cure cancer. You can play that out to be a victim. But he has control over much of the problem.

I'm able to comprehend you quoting my post and stating that I thought he had some incredible performance when I didn't say that.

Like I said before though, I'm not so blinded where I can't appreciate a good game when I see it instead of trying to qualify it.

Predictably, what could have been a decent discussion on basketball has devolved into the usual antics. It's almost like when you have nothing else to add, you start up with the usual crap. I find that a good place to exit.

A thread that asked the question of how the team, in particularly Scotty would respond after Bruce publicly criticized him and then went drill sergeant in practice, somehow turned into this. It's a joke, but look at the usual culprits.

This performance won't change his mental capacity.

Who knows? Bruce criticizing him this week could be the best thing that ever happened to him. Hence, the part where I said, "let's see if he can sustain it."

Don't expect the same level of performance from Hopson Saturday at Ole Miss. They are few and far between, mostly when we play teams that we have an obvious talent advantage.

Well since we have an obvious talent advantage vs. Ole Miss, we should be good. And that is wrong. What confuses most people about Scotty is that he plays like crap against crap a lot of times.

Edit:

To prove this:

Vs. VCU: 18 pts 11 rebs.
Vs. Nova: 18 pts
Vs. Pitt: 27 pts
Vs. Memphis 16 pts.
Vs. Florida: 20 pts
Vs. Vandy: 16 pts
Vs. UGA: 15 pts
Vs. UCONN: 13 pts (wasn't a good performance overall)

I think I covered just about everyone on the list that we didn't have an obvious talent advantage over. It's the games where we do have an obvious talent advantage is where Scotty confuses people.

What that doesn't factor in is turnovers, poor defense, and shooting percentage. Going only on points scored without considering any other aspects of his play and you are correct.

More than likely you are going to get poor defense every night from Scotty. In 90 percent of those games there, he was a dominant force.

No question that this team needs Hopson to perform to be successful. I hate to think where this team would be without him. That's what makes his inconsistent play so frustrating. He has the most talent on the team, but doesn't use it consistently.
