1982alum, just to rehash.

You don't like the gray and players who do, should immediately transfer to Pajama University.

Recruits are running the team and when they get here, they likely won't play hard and will quit because they are spoiled brats.

Unhappy fans get changes quicker. To think we don't need changes makes us all spoiled brats.

Allowing gray uniforms is coddling the players. Butch coddles, Saban doesn't (I assume Saban wins championships because he doesn't have his team wear alternate jerseys?). The seniors should just take their scholarship money and have no opinions because they are property of the state.

My name fits me.

Anything you want to add or does this cover it?

I don't mind the look in general but I'd prefer never to see them again. People talking about a new tradition, or a throwback to 1914 should realize that traditions are born from victories.

Bud Light said it best, "It's only weird if it doesn't work." It's not working.

I'm not trying to be a smart aleck, but I'd rather our staff not take their advice from beer commercials.

Also, all of those superstitions are weird because you have absolutely no effect on a football game from your living room. At all.

Gimmick is right

If they were focused on beating Vandy, the idea of wearing grey should have never come up

This team should be focused on one thing and that's beating the crap out of every team they play

But looking good whilst losing is more important while groovin to the DJ

I'm as disappointed by the win as anyone, but one thing Butch has proven he can do is attract the kind of talent we need to improve and win games on the future.

So I say we let them have the uniforms and the DJ as long as the talent keeps wanting to come here.

And with a team run on "what the recruits want" is a team that has no leadership and goes 4-8 or 5-7 each year. And see how long those recruits keep playing hard. Or even want to come here. Like this year's crop, they will quit when the going gets tough. Don't want those spoiled brats on the team.

And Coach IDONTKNOWWHATTHEFIMTALKINABOUT speaks loud and clear!

How many of the 2014 commitments have expressed anything to show that the grey uniforms had something to do with their commitment?
This claim that the change influenced them is completely unsubstantiated.

Are people suggesting the jersey's influenced their decision to commit? I haven't seen that. I just know many of the recruits have made comments about liking the jerseys.

If a recruit commits to a school based on an alternate jersey, then he may need counseling.

It's not so much the uniforms themselves as a staff who is willing to hear out the players and acknowledge the desires of the guys who give their blood, sweat, and tears to the program.

Edit: To elaborate, recruits see actions such as the uniforms, DJ, etc. as the staff doing exactly this and it has been a key part of persuading kids that UT is the kind I place they want to spend the next 3-5 years working their asses off.

This advice is for the fans. Not for the coaches. They will do what they do and they will reap what they sow.

The point is that this is not some natural tradition as some on here have made it to be. It's a gimmick, and one that's not working.

I like the black/orange halloween colors and the gray did not look right with white helmets. Like they just half heartily put it together.

Are you talking about the uniform? How do uniforms "not work"?

By your logic we need to start changing color every week until we find one that we win in and just wear that. Crimson and white might work?

Apparently we should wear clear since we haven't won in any color. The fact that over 60% of you believe that they are cursed should tell everyone something about the mentality of our fan base.

Not cursed but they do not depict the Orange and White heritage for our school.

Our uniforms should be Orange and White. We should not try like some teams to look like clowns.

This thread is full of old people who can't accept that times change.

It may be hard to acknowledge because change is scary, but our lack of success has nothing to do with grey jerseys or rap being played at games.

The jerseys aren't going away, the DJ is staying, and women can vote now. Get over it.

listening to the pea brains ("it'll help our recruiting!"). its a gimmick. traditions aren't built on gimmicks.

How many games have we lost un all orange? How many in the all white? Better yet the orange jerseys and white pants? If the OP wanted to ban a uni based on losses, then we need to change school colora and start from scratch.
