I always give credit when due, even to my enemy. AJ is a smart QB who is a great leader and motivator, but I'm tired of Bama fans talking him up and it's worse after this award. He's not even the 2nd... or 3rd best in the SEC. Manziel, Murray and yes, Shaw are 10x the QB he is.
Pointless rant, I know, but these Bama fans just get under my skin. :p

Something else I'll share. My wife's uncle said if Bama played Chatt the way they played Auburn they'd have lost to them too.

I've never heard a Bama fan admit the better team won. Ever. Haha

Yeah me too. I'm not sure I would say Murray and Shaw are much better. McCarron isn't required to do the things that those 2 must do to make their teams competetive. One thing is for sure that his LIFE resume would be hard to top outside Tom Brady's maybe if AJ were to steal the Heisman. Dating Katherine Webb, winning multiple NC a few individual awards and probably makes a NFL roster as a backup at least.

He's an excellent QB. In 2011 it was a valid criticism, but 2012 and 2013 showed he's one of the best in the league.

Heisman finalist invited to attend the ceremony in New York but only Honorable Mention All SEC. When you consider his total ability and who he is dating, how can anyone say McCarron is not overrated both on and off the field?

Not to defend the Bammers, IMO AJ is a team leader, knows the offense and reads defenses better than most quality QB's. His resume speaks volumes and he has a badass girlfriend.

AJ is an extremely underrated QB IMO. He finally got some dues paid last night at the awards show, but he gets a lot of "just a game manager" talk which I disagree with. The dude's a baller.

Hes a fine QB, dont get me wrong, but his stats this year are comparable to Zach Mettengerger. Mettenberger is good, and has had a fine year but not one worthy of any awards. McCarron has less yards in more attempts, 4 more tds (once again more attempts) and has a lower QBR then Mettenberger. Once again McCarron is a good QB but not deserving of any awards in 2013.

What does he not do effectively? In 3 years he's thrown for 8,243 yds, 72 TD's and 13 INT's with an aggregate completion % of 67.2%.

He doesn't throw for 4000 yds a year because he doesn't have to; Alabama is very balanced and will beat with you both their smash mouth run game & their precision air attack. I hate Alabama, but people are idiots to not give credit where credit is due.

Maybe I'm clueless, but with that kind of size and winning experience, he looks to me like the kind of QB that is going late 1st round to a good team where he can develop.

That could be the case although I can't imagine a team using a 1st round pick on him. His combine will probably help his status

Not a fan. Too few games where talent and coaching were comparable on the opposing sideline.

He won't see that advantage in the pros.

My opinion is that McCarron is the 2nd best QB in the SEC. I think Murray is/was much better than anyone else. Certainly the most under rated player in the SEC.

I find him to be a more athletic Greg McElroy TBH.

He's got a stronger arm than McElroy, but I'm not sure he's quite as accurate as McElroy was.

He won't play in the NFL because he can only throw a football 45 yards. That is simply not good enough

I'll hold judgment until he actually has pressure on him and has to throw on the run in the NFL.He had it pretty easy having those Bama offensive lines protecting him

This. He's a winner and a leader. May not be the next Peyton Manning, but I honestly could see him being a starter in the NFL and having an average career.
