'19 TN ATH Adonis Otey (ARK Commit 8/1/18)

"Committed to get other offers"

Current Blackman starter when Otey committed. Didn't rule out that he ends up a Vol but said he would never stay committed until he graduated.

SMH kids....

It's a kids thang bruh. We are not woke. YOLO.

(I'm trying 😅)

I guess the problem is that they tend to change their mind when they commit that early and rarely recommit to the same school.

With teammates like Teague and Knox, Butch and gang were trying to get their foot in the door at Blackman to get some momentum rolling. I don't blame them at all. I would take any commitment possible (from quality player) from that squad.

This kid isn't off the board for us, he's just opened it up. It was known by his teammates this was a strong possibility as I posted yesterday.

So much time here. Go out and win big this year and see what happens with all of these kids (minus Knox :p)

That's ridiculous at an in-state school for one of the biggest football programs in the country and one with our history. Someone needs to beat the hell out of that coach and send his Urban Meyer-loving ass to the hellhole that is Ohio.

Otey, a 6-foot, 175-pound defensive back, committed to Tennessee prior to his junior season at Blackman (after transferring from Franklin Road Academy), but decommitted just a few months later.

Tennessee is still in the mix, but Otey said Wednesday there wasn't a current "top 5" or so list. 247Sports lists all of his schools as "cool."

Otey has also received offers from Alabama, Arkansas, South Carolina, Cincinnati, Houston and Memphis.

Yeah, from what I've seen from this kid, although mostly thought of, as a DB in college, he would prefer offense, too soft on defense. Another slot guy, imo, but I still want him, Tennessee kid. This staff will find a place for him, I have no doubt

Too soft on D, but you think he can handle hits in the slot? Ok, that doesn't make sense...

It's not like you can hit anyone going over the middle anymore. That's why you see so many good slot receivers now. They have nothing to fear in the middle of the field anymore due to rule changes.

As jabril peppers and adoree Jackson have proved. If you're good at abunch of things you're not great at one thing

I know he had some trouble againt Tyreek Hill. Especially in the first half but Adoree Jackson has played really well the 2nd half of the season.

He's had some really good returns called back by penalties including I think 3 punt return touchdowns.

Also almost blew the game last weekend with his muffed punt. KC missing that field goal saved Adorees butt.
