'19 TN ATH Adonis Otey (ARK Commit 8/1/18)

Also almost blew the game last weekend with his muffed punt. KC missing that field goal saved Adorees butt.

Whoa whoa let's not act like he's a bum.Jackson allowed only 28.6 percent of contested passes to be caught, fifth highest in the NFL per Pro Football..He was only rated 29th,so nothing spectacular but to be a rookie you gotta give him sum respect. He's held his own.You mention Kc,but Week 17 had a phenomenal strip fumble that lead to points against jacksonville..Kid will only get better, not to mention his use on offense and special teams. We just don't have a coach that knows how to use him yet..Robiskie is a bum

Who called him a bum? I think he’s got a lot of potential, but he also had a big rookie mistake just last week in the playoffs. First playoff game and he almost handed the game to KC. He will be better the more experience he gets.

But yes, I’m not even a Titans fan and I can tell Robiskie is a bum.

Recruiting Wrap: Otey has offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Tennessee and several others.

Performance: Otey is another player who has clearly been putting in work since his junior season ended and on Sunday he impressed during both drills and one-on-ones as he looked faster and more confident. As a future lockdown cornerback, Otey carries himself with the swagger it takes to succeed at the position and with his physical gifts it's clear that his best days as a player are still ahead of him.

Nah he DB all the way. Not a chsnce of being a full time offensive guy. On the tweets Adonis is just shooting the breeze

Thoughts on how he has developed? Do you think the staff will make him a priority? At this point I go back and forth on him being a high level SEC prospect vs more of a mid-tier P5 prospect. Seems like a strong year in-state at CB. Washington has to be at the top.

I don’t think it’s been reported anywhere that the staff has even reached out to him. I could be wrong.

Same thing with our current lone 2019 commit - Te’Cory Couch down in Florida. He’s still commited to us but I never see or hear his name mentioned with the new staff.

I haven't seen it reported anywhere either. I'd personally be surprised if he's a priority for the new staff, then again I don't know how well he has developed over the last year as some others on this board would know.

Apparently couch showed out at the Rivals Future50 camp

Several of the coaches made the Blackman/Oakland/Siegel stops last week when the re-offered Knox and Woodi and the DT at Siegel. Not sure one way or the other about talking to Otey.

Just watching them play in person last year, Woodi was head and shoulders above Otey or any other DB. Otey would stand out in a camp situation because he is athletic, but when helmets start flying, he looks a little timid.

funny cause I watched every game and they only threw his way 10 times all year and gave up no touchdowns and if u go bak and look at game film he delivered some of the biggest hits and can play anywhere in the secondary .....btw Pruitt’s wants woodi, wilhoite and Adonis on campus this weekend

yeah MH Woodie Washington is definitely #1 at Cb and #1 prospect in the state. On Adonis he has really been focused and we've seen a tremendous growth in his development. I really believe the year at FRA vs bad competition hurt him. I like him playing S better than Cb but I think he can play either. His speed and length will work well at either spot.

The staff has reached out to our entire 19, 20, and 21 class athletes. Many have been in town and also spoke to CJP when he was in town.

Any of them actually grow up Vol fans? Or is that not a thing these days

not sure man its kinda hard to see young kids that really like UT like that BGS. You have to remember its been since 98/99 when we were real contenders. Meanwhile most of these kids are front runners and band wagon these days.

so are most of our older fans. they came in at the height of the glory.

"I became a fan back in 98 when we won it all." you never hear about someone bragging about their UT fandom starting with "the year Vanderbilt beat us by double digits".

You’re not kidding with that last sentence. Alabama went through this mess before Saban as well. Maybe CJP will be what we needed. Win and they will come for sure

can play all over but I say he’s a better safety as well can really be special at that Star position in that 3-4 defense

Good stuff man. I'm glad I'm not the only one who kind of thought he may project even better at safety than CB, especially in this kind of defense they are going to run. You have to think we are going to have a real good chance with a lot of these DB's with the incredible job Pruitt has done of putting so many into the NFL.

Okay thanks. I just wasn't aware. I know it's been reported on TOS that the staff let a small handful (knox, WW, lampley, norton etc) know they are priorities, and several others have been scheduled to visit or tweeted about the staff re-offering, etc.

Hadn't seen anything anywhere on Adonis, so thanks for the clarity.

By "our entire class athletes" I'm assuming you mean in-state guys. Happen to know if we contacted our lone '19 commit, Te'Cory Couch?

Just another example have how out of touch TOS is right now.

I took “our entire class athletes” to mean NPA kids.
