Not sure I'd call it dumb or bad, but it seems the word is that staff is looking for young defensive talent in the portal (years left in program). That would seem to indicate that they're scouting potential over experience.

Yeah I am thinking about it like this. We are potentially getting a high 4 star that just got a year of development at Ohio State who is currently a top five program. He spent the summer and fall there last year. Played in three games. Went through spring practice and had 9 tackles and a pass break up in the spring game.

So high 4 star plus all of that
