Well you had your chance in the Ross thread and said nothing. No, this has nothing to do with feelings. As I have repeatedly asserted, I would also be critical of a recruit who acted similarly while announcing Tennessee as his choice.
We will just have to agree to disagree on that. I think it is a disrespectful way to conduct oneself.
No, it's not. I didn't see what Jordan Ross did .... but if it was the "fake out" act? Then yes, that stunt is just as tired and ridiculous for a Tennessee commitment, as it is for anyone else.Well you had your chance in the Ross thread and said nothing.
Don’t act like this is you standing on principle. It’s reactionary homer stuff. Kid does a shirt switch and it’s a conspiracy against Tennessee… honestly

I hope we can flip him ..... but if not? Good luck to him, anyway.I mean… not like that’s the worst thing in the world. If you don’t buy into the crap Dabo tries to push, you realize you have other options.
You're right, conspiracy implies that something illegal was gong on.No, it's not. I didn't see what Jordan Ross did .... but if it was the "fake out" act? Then yes, that stunt is just as tired and ridiculous for a Tennessee commitment, as it is for anyone else.
It is not a big deal or a reflection of anyone's character or upbringing. It is, at least in my opinion, immature and disrespectful. I never mentioned the word "conspiracy." I did say that it was at least possible that someone affiliated with Clemson encouraged this. Does that mean that someone really did? Of course not. The timing with Faizon Brandon's announcement could have just been a coincidence ....
There you have it, folks. It was a plot. You're right, conspiracy implies that something illegal was gong on.
You're saying it could have been a "plot".
Careful foresight in planning a complex scheme to throw shade at UT the day before Fazion Brandon commits in order to take away from UT's moment of landing the top player in 2026.
Yup, that's a plot.
"There you have it, somebody thought of another word for this story I made up."
I agree that it has been overdone. It just makes no sense to risk insulting your second choice. Ask Cade Mays. Yes he did finally get to UT, but I bet he ate a little crow after his behavior during the UGA selection ceremony. Why risk it? When I get 2 job offers. I try to let the second choice know how much I appreciated their time and that it was a hard choice. Ya never know.........I hope we can flip him ..... but if not? Good luck to him, anyway.
.... but I do still feel like that fake out routine has been overdone and it has always been stupid.
You act like his commitment video was the only communication with the other staffs. They’ll have already spoken with him on the phone. The video isn’t informing anybody important of the decision. It’s just glitter for the fans.I agree that it has been overdone. It just makes no sense to risk insulting your second choice. Ask Cade Mays. That is ridiculous."There you have it, somebody thought of another word for this story I made up."
If these guys had been around a football program for an hour, they’d know that no one involved is "plotting" shirt switches that only the softest opposing fan would take issue with. They are about their business, and if anyone has this pre-teen girl mentality of "hat switches are disrespectful" or "we have to steal this recruit’s shine" they would rightly be sent to manage equipment for the women’s racquetball team.
No .... He acts like Young made a public display of flippantly rejecting Tennessee .... and he did. It wasn't necessary. You act like his commitment video was the only communication with the other staffs. They’ll have already spoken with him on the phone. What??? He made a commitment video. Like every other recruit. No .... He acts like Young made a public display of flippantly rejecting Tennessee .... and he did. It wasn't necessary.
.... but once again, I will underscore that I don't consider it to be important. It's not a poor reflection of either Young's character or of Young's upbringing. There was simply a better way to handle his announcement.
.... and I still hope he changes his mind, and comes to Tennessee. He probably is a fine young man. I did things on a daily basis in high school that I regret, which were much worse than this.
A 16 year old is an adolescent ... not a child. What??? He made a commitment video. Like every other recruit.
Noted that you found it disrespectful. Also noted that you never spoke up when a Tennessee commit did it.
Reiterating that finding disrespect in a child’s stunt is baby poop soft. Wasn’t trying to veil that in any way.
That is a good point. This is like saying Toyota plotted to announce a new Camry the day before Lamborghini planned to announce a new Revuelto.
Camrys are great. Solid vehicles. But c’mon, guy. These recruits are worlds apart. In no reality would anyone think the Camry could compete with the Revuelto in terms of the significance of their announcements, including Toyota.
I like this analogy. Makes me feel better about this miss knowing he's just player version of the 07 beater I drive to work every day. This is like saying Toyota plotted to announce a new Camry the day before Lamborghini planned to announce a new Revuelto.
