Not at all but AP has been horribly off this whole cycle. It's odd.
are you kitten? A bona fide player with CFB experience who comes in can start right away versus a Sensabaugh?? i'm good.Just to be clear on my position here I don't think the sky is falling. He was never going to make or break this class. But when what is considered a fall back in state option picks another school who's traditionally less successful it's hard not to call it a bad loss.
It is what it is though. McCoy is better I think anyway. Land him and close strong and I'll feel better..... Until next year anyway.
Tells me the kid was never going to Tennessee if you let Missouri come in late.As of 5-6 weeks ago, this staff wasn’t all in on Sensabaugh. They finally decided to push and became the team in front. Missouri came in with a push after Sensabaugh got his 4th star from 247. Going in big from an NIL perspective that isn’t someone like Seaton, NWaneri and others doesn’t make much sense imo…especially one that you weren’t all in on 5-6 weeks ago. Landing McCoy is what matters.

No it isn’t when we wanted him but MIZZ got on their knees and pulled his pants down and puckered up because Dork likes it just like he likes to jump into other mens arms and wrap his legs around them. We wanted him but were not going to whore ourselves out. That's not the issue though. If it's true that the staff was pushing for this kid and couldn't seal the deal, after some other whiffs to end this cycle, is more than a little worrisome.
Heup need a couple more Garner’s and that’s been the case for a while. The thing with promoting within is they have to gain a reputation. He is selling his system, it’s hit and miss. From what I’ve seen we have brought in better QBs/pass rushers/mike backers/RBs than the past. Can do a little better on the Oline and d tackle, also a 5 star corner sprinkled in from time to time would be nice. But to cry about this kid is just nitpicking at this point. You’re not seeing the forest from the trees.
Our staff pushed for him and still didn’t get him. Which has been a trend all cycle.
That’s where the concern lies.
Wow!! This is a fantastic analogy!! I mean, well yeah, because missing out on a 4 star to Mizzou is just about as bad as dying. In principle, this works. In practice, this thought process is dumb as h@@@. That’s like telling a cardiac surgeon, hey, don’t worry about the ones that died on your watch, just worry about the ones that are alive. Makes sense, you can’t help dead people…but you probably should find out why they aren’t alive…
Just what did last year prove? The person that said that while coaching here no longer has a job…so, you can either figure out why you swing and miss 24-7 or act like everything is cool. Can’t bi&&& when we are 7-5. I don’t think this kid is the reason you’re 9-3 or 7-5 next year, but this staff has struck out a lot this year. This year proved this staff isn’t magic workers. They need talent.
I don't agree with all of this but they are reasonable questions. It is a balancing act, for sure. I am a bit surprised about Sensabaugh but still willing to see how it plays out. While I am not advocating for us to pay for someone like Sensabaugh, AP has stated that Spyre had allocated money to make an impact in the portal if needed, but the coaching staff didn't pursue some of the big names because they don't want to upset others on the team. We apparently have the best collective in college football, yet our high school recruiting and transfer portal classes are not top-tier (albeit they are very good). It feels like Ole Miss is all in on this year; meanwhile, we will most likely get two years of Nico, and we are scared to bring in portal players because it will upset our younger talent. Our younger talent is good but not great based on their ranking. We missed on Seaton and didn't go after the best players in the portal. When does the staff expect to use the money we allocated for both? Do we have a bunch of sub-par recruiters being carried by an elite collective?
Not what I was saying, but also not here to argue with you. I come here to see what’s going on Vol wise. Rarely post on here anymore, and I sure don’t want to be arguing on a message board with ppl. Have a good day. Go Vols.Wow!! This is a fantastic analogy!! I mean, well yeah, because missing out on a 4 star to Mizzou is just about as bad as dying.

Are we back to the "It's the fans' fault!" narrative? The fans have NOTHING to do with closing on a kid. I'm not torn up by Sensabaugh picking Mizzou. I wasn't high on him. But some of you are choosing to ignore the staff wanted this kid. The opinions of anonymous people on a message board mean diiddly squat. The coaches wanted him. That's all that matters.Vol fans talked sh!t about this kid and his dad on here and Twitter, for the whole world to see. Do you think they didn't see it? Now, Vol fans are talking sh!t about the coaches because Missouri beat us for an in-state 4* that they claimed to not even want. A large part of our fan base sucks big donkey balls.
Just let it play on the field they are trusting their coaching and recruits… the trenches is about 90% intact the skill players we have currently and coming in are plenty talented… we will be young in the secondary but very lengthy and talented with a nasty DL… Nico will make more plays than joe he knows when to take off and get yards and can extend plays much better than Joe… this year he got to sit and learn behind a 6 year Qb that will be drafted which was huge for his development yall just relax… the results will bring in the recruits and I believe in this staff and roster… good luck to the kid I never have any hard feelings or resentment to a young man going to college on a football scholarship… this doesn’t move the needle good or bad either way for how I feel about the program. Y’all forget where we were pre heuple just relax it’s going to be a process. This Is a better position than any of the previous 4 coaches had in 16 years lol. While I am not advocating for us to pay for someone like Sensabaugh, AP has stated that Spyre had allocated money to make an impact in the portal if needed, but the coaching staff didn't pursue some of the big names because they don't want to upset others on the team. There is no narrative. It's more of "you can't have it both ways". Like, you can't talk about the power and influence of Vol Twitter when you get an outcome that the majority wants, but say it has no bearing when you get a negative result. Are we back to the "It's the fans' fault!" narrative?
