Coaches must be pretty confident in how he will translate in college or he wouldn’t have offers from every school in the country besides Bama and Georgia. Also one doesn’t have to be a 30 year scout at the NFL level to see how good of a player this kid is on both sides of the ball. Sure there could be a multitude of reasons why he could potentially pick Michigan over us, but the fact he’s recently decided he wants to play offense in college and AP saying that it wouldn’t surprise him to see Boo end up at Michigan (because they’re telling him they’ll give the opportunity to play offense) after we’ve led for him for the last 8-9 months and have received CB after CB for him tells me that if we do miss on him it won’t be because he likes a certain professor there or some girl winked at him or he likes their jerseys more and it will likely be because that staff was willing to give him an opportunity that ours wasn’t. If God forbid that’s how this ends up going there’s no denying our staff made a mistake by sticking too much to their gunsAnd just keep piling on the evidence. You have no clue how many players of similar talent UT has on their board. Literally... no idea at all. They like this kid and are recruiting him. Being in state makes him more important. But you don't know anything the rest of us don't know... which means you know far too little to make these kinds of declarations.
and again, you have no way of knowing how "special" he is. Even the coaches and programs recruiting him don't know how he will transition to CFB.
Just one of may bumps in the road that you have to deal with to sign the right talent to win at the highest level. Somehow you cannot get it through your head that the staff's job is to make the most attractive appeal that they can. Others will do the same then the kid will make a choice. He's not so unique that he can't be replaced. UT likely isn't the only school that he could be happy with.
That is so idiotic that to respond any more to you would cause me to say things... I don't want to say.
And that once again is PROFOUNDLY stupid. The coaches can do the very best they can do and him STILL make a different choice. It could be anything from a girl that winked at him on a visit to meeting a particular professor he liked to liking one jersey color better than another. Missing a recruit does not make it "definitely" a screw up.

Right. No extremely highly recruited high school kid has ever been a bust. Good grief. If he goes elsewhere, then he goes elsewhere. There is no reason to lose any sleep over it. This coaching staff knows what they want in a player.Coaches must be pretty confident in how he will translate in college or he wouldn’t have offers from every school in the country besides Bama and Georgia. I don't think the coaches dislike his fit in the offense, but more that they see an explosive playmaker for the defense. They are looking for potential game changers on defense and Boo has shown he can be that just as well as he could be on offense. The kid is just one hell of an athlete/football player.Or...hang with me here...they want him for defense, cause that's what they want and don't think he's a great fit for what they want on offense.
Given their clear offensive prowess, I'm gonna defer to them over a pearl clutching fan.

If he has a preference, then it's a recent development. He's has said it doesn't matter where he plays, and his mom spoke strongly about him playing DB when she was on here. Like they say frequently on here.... recruiting is fluid.I guess that's the question then. If he really wants to play offense and they aren't willing to commit to it, that would appear to contradict what you're saying. Understand that I know nothing at all, just parsing it logically.
And you act like you have never watched recruiting or tracked players that were highly rated before. Some do well. Not all. There are no guarantees in recruiting... tons of variables that can make a great looking prospect bust.Coaches must be pretty confident in how he will translate in college or he wouldn’t have offers from every school in the country besides Bama and Georgia.
He's a talented kid. You act like he's somehow uniquely talented in all of America. The coaches very likely have 4 or 5 or maybe more kids on their board for that spot. They likely have very similar talent and potential. Also one doesn’t have to be a 30 year scout at the NFL level to see how good of a player this kid is on both sides of the ball.
OK. Now I'll go ahead and address this pure stupidity. He is NOT talented enough to dictate which side of the ball he has the most value on for UT. Heupel FAR more than you knows what he wants in a receiver in his O. They appear to think he has real upside on D. Yes. There is "denying" they made a mistake by sticking to their guns. They're MUCH smarter than you. They have FAR more information than you. Stop acting like some know it all when it is obvious that you know MUCH less than the average poster here.Sure there could be a multitude of reasons why he could potentially pick Michigan over us, but the fact he’s recently decided he wants to play offense in college and AP saying that it wouldn’t surprise him to see Boo end up at Michigan (because they’re telling him they’ll give the opportunity to play offense) after we’ve led for him for the last 8-9 months and have received CB after CB for him tells me that if we do miss on him it won’t be because he likes a certain professor there or some girl winked at him or he likes their jerseys more and it will likely be because that staff was willing to give him an opportunity that ours wasn’t. -VQAll eyes are on Boo Carter ahead of his June 17th commitment from New York City. There is plenty of Michigan chatter out there ahead of his official visit, but he was back on Tennessee's campus on Thursday for a 7v7 camp. This one has been a two-team race for a while, so there is a possibility for another twist or two, but we would still lean toward Tennessee heading into the weekend.
I suspect rival programs are pushing this new idea of Boo playing offense to create a wedge issue. I'm ok with whatever our coaches decide, but I think he would be an amazing play maker on defense. And I think we would see him on "offense" often, as soon as he got the next interception into his hands. Boo is a guy who could be a "pick six" machine. Also, historically, many or most of our best punt returners have been DBs.If he has a preference, then it's a recent development. He's has said it doesn't matter where he plays, and his mom spoke strongly about him playing DB when she was on here. Like they say frequently on here.... recruiting is fluid.
You also have to take roster spots into account. If Boo was planned to fill a defensive spot, and the staff hit on the highly talented kids they had for WR, then just said, "Sure Boo. You come be a WR.", then they'd have overrecruited at WR and created a void at DB.OK. Now I'll go ahead and address this pure stupidity. Probably not since @BelieveTheHeup93 is wetting his pants so much over the idea.Had Boo ever out right stated on what side of the ball he wants to play on?
In my time here a lot of posters have changed their screen names/started a new account to escape embarrassment over stupid things they've argued.Hate he got off of here. Not sure if he got booted or just deleted his account but I would have loved to have seen what he had to say after we beat Bama last year. He LOVED Pruitt and I'm sure part of that is because Pruitt was paying them.
