in all fairness, kid was with our coaches before the OV, and will be with them again, next week. This is an important recruit, because he's a good athlete. If we dont land him, it isnt for trying. Kid is a national recruit. His insta with all his Mich pics is captioned "If you wanna make a couple of racks just come with me".............. WTF
They have definitely tried, but a coach for Bradley that was close to him while he was still at CCS told me the main reason Michigan is as high as they are is because they’re giving him the opportunity to play offense. If they don’t land him it’s because they weren’t willing to tell him what he wanted to hear. Sure that type of stuff can backfire if you look at Butch Jones and Jalen Hurd, but it worked out well with Alonte Taylor and we recruited Seldon as a WR and the first day of practice he was lining up with the RBs. I’m not saying Heupel should outright lie to him, but a simple “we like you as a DB, but we’ll give you the opportunity to prove yourself on offense” would sufficein all fairness, kid was with our coaches before the OV, and will be with them again, next week. Still think he's a Vol.
They recruited Seldon as a WR, but also told him that he would be used at both positions. They were never dishonest with Seldon. It was just a matter of which position group he'd be with first. The greater need was at RB and he had to learn the nuances of the position. It was also his fastest track to playing time. They have definitely tried, but a coach for Bradley that was close to him while he was still at CCS told me the main reason Michigan is as high as they are is because they’re giving him the opportunity to play offense. That's not true. They recruited him as a multi-role player and that they would put him at WR or RB based on the best fit. They have definitely tried, but a coach for Bradley that was close to him while he was still at CCS told me the main reason Michigan is as high as they are is because they’re giving him the opportunity to play offense. We recruited Seldon as an offensive weapon that can line up at either RB or WR. Everyone pegged him for WR due to only having two WR commits. I have talked to a coach of his. I’m not making assumptions. Michigan is the only school giving him the opportunity to play offense. Heupel likely doesn’t even have to promise him anything. A simple “we like you most as a DB, but we’ll give you the chance to prove yourself on offense in spring practice if that’s where you want to play” would work. That’s essentially the pitch Michigan is giving him and according to one of his coaches that’s the main reason it was a close recruitment going into his OVThat's not true. You have no idea what's being said between the parties. Stop acting like you've been in the room or on the phone with them.
If Heupel makes a promise knowing they're going to steer him to D because he doesn't have what they're looking for on O... that's lying and the kid would end up resenting him for it. If they're not convinced O is right for him then they should recruit him as hard as they can as a DB and assure him that others will either push him to D or else hurt his chances at the NFL.
