Well I think comparing UT's production in the secondary from 2021-2023 under WM to the production of UGA's secondaries since Kirby has been the head coach there is oranges to apples. The talent in the respective secondaries hasn't been comparable and neither has the talent along the rest of the respective defenses (LBs and DL).

I've heard Morgan is a great kid and I don't know why we didn't pursue. What I do know is that UGA beat out 3 programs we wouldn't be very excited about being the other contenders for one of our commitments, and that is isn't debatable.

That’s like saying the O-line makes the receivers… it’s true but they still need talent… it’s the technique… I don’t know a lot about the position but I know enough to know it’s frustrating watching our DB’s play.

We got a couple good Corners and Perlotte MIGHT end up at Safety (I think LB) with Merritt...but losing Shaedy definitely hurt this class at DB.

Fortunately Brooks is the only DB in our starting 5 that cannot come back next year. I thought Turrentine was gone too but AP said that everyone can come back but Brooks. I think Jourdan Thomas will be the man to beat for Brooks spot based on experience...but you never know.

the Will Brooks replacement will come from the portal imo. Thomas has never really shown much

Anyone possibly considered that we have studs and depth at nearly every secondary position? I'm sure that impacted DB recruiting. Hayward would have been nice but we will be just fine. It's very unlikely that he would have contributed next year so always possible to get him out of the portal once Napier underachieves and gets fired.

He has shown to be a thumper with another offseason in the system I think he can really take off… much more athletic than Brooks and if he can use what he learned from Brooks in the film room he can really have a great season.
