'20 TN DE/LB Tyler Baron (UT SIGNEE)

LOL Basilio just said Baron thought he had an NIL lined up to go to UK and they got cold feet and he's having second thoughts.

If this is true,I'm not sure how to feel about this.I mean it's a win to keep the dude, but I'm not getting the feeling he really wants to be here who knows really.Id like to know if he was personally upset with the hard coaching or if it was just a dad being a overly parenting father? If u don't want Gardner to bring the absolute best outta you, then u can go somewhere else and give 75%.Thats just my thoughts on it.

I don’t like the fact that he tested the waters, didn’t get offered what he wanted, and might come back.. I don’t like that attitude at all
I hear ya, but I could see that these young men could be a little confused about the current college football landscape that is a swirl of change and transition right now.

Forget that trash! Tell him he can stay in the portal and find a different home. We are not filthy seconds especially to a program that we dominate.

The theory would make alot of sense imo with the recent developments.
That kentucky reached out to one of our players before they were allowed to and made an offer to him? Then tony basilio finds out? I don’t think our coaching staff OR players would let that slide and even give him the option to come back

Good way to gain hundreds of thousands of haters real quick
Realistically, is your father more important or thousands of fans who you don't even know? Baron has been 100% bought in from day one. This situation is very unique and it concerns feelings of loyalty to family. His head and heart are all Vol, but his heart is also loyal to his father. Life is sometimes bigger that this football team. Bigger than football in general. We need to step away from our orange fandom sometimes and remember that we are human beings, but maybe that's too much to ask.

Reminds me a little of Jonathan Kongbo. Had high hopes but didn’t live up to the standards I placed on him, but still was a piece of the defensive side. The side I consider the weakness of this team.

I have no issues if he comes back. His situation is tough (father no longer in the program) and he’s 19-20. It’s not like he led the coaches thru a long drawn out recruitment then made a video says “f Tennessee”

So what’s the story? You sound like you know exactly what has happened. Let’s hear it

If he’s reaching out to teams trying to get money and then wants back in because he got no takers… no, I don’t want him back

I hate this NIL mess. It’s a train wreck
Me too.. I miss the days when guys had pride in the school they represented. When they were loyal to their teammates, coaches and fans.
it’s why I’ve always thought college and even high school football were so much better than the nfl. There’s no difference now
