Signal MTN and a few other schools pay for good wrestlers outside of the state to transfer in and wrestle for the program
I didn't know Signal Mtn was into that game. Just figured they had the Uhorchuk family in their zone and that was it.

I don’t know about all that but when they first started their football program ol bill price would bring in some guys

I changed the wording to be more accurate. Maybe not Signal Mtn but I wouldn't put it past any Chattanooga area school to pay for wrestlers

Ah, well you're definitely right about that.

How did your wrestler finish?

You grossly overestimate the available funds of Chattanooga area wrestling programs
You underestimate the alure of the only Top 25 wrestling program in the southeast. UTC also helps these wrestlers in the summer. Most wrestling colleges help out HS wrestlers who want to get better in the summer

all the wrestlers I know wrestle club year round to get better. Nobody’s goin to utc. Just what area are you located? A little hard feelings I assume?

Clearly hasn’t seen the Cleveland and Bradley wrestling facilities 😅😅

Also if I can find a picture that shows Cleveland’s dominance at wrestling from when I saw Baylor scrimmage them this past summer, I’ll send it…

When I went to Soddy Daisy in the 90’s we had our own dedicated gym for wrestling only. It was impressive. I believe they still have that.

Not sure if we paid wrestlers in the 90’s but I know for a fact we recruited wrestlers from other schools.

Someone is butthurt his favorite program is getting criticized as if it's not well known how a couple of Chatt area public schools have recruited like top HS football programs do, drawn out of state wrestlers, and private $$$ has changed hands from rich individuals. Even TSSAA got involved with a situation 15-20 years ago involving these programs.

Nobody accused anyone of anything. There's not really anything illegal about what's happening right now and several of the people I know personally and are great people and coaches. But to pretend or think its not happening is just asinine.

They're the best programs for a reason, and you have to respect that. It's the Georgia and Bama of TN public school wrestling lol

Somebody’s butthurt his school is not good at wrestling

Wouldn't doubt it.

However, Id like to add that Carson Gentle has never lived out of state. His father even played at MTSU. He's a Tennessee boy thru and thru.

So while I don't doubt what you say, I'll also add that they can find just as good in their backyard

You're extremely defensive over actual facts - and we have even stated the Chatt area has the best programs in the state and Southeast. You have the emotional maturity of a 16yr old.

Not that it matters, but we have historical state duels titles, produce state champions annually, and we send kids to college. Our programs are better than good.

😂😚 goodday buddy

Carson finished 5th in the heavyweight
Carson lost the semi-final match 4-3. Word from the coaches is that he probably won the semi-final match -- but there was no replay. Carson got a takedown in the first minute that probably should have been awarded nearfall points--which meant he would have finished at least second. He did not complain--and we are not saying he was wronged--he did not get the call and he was not in the lead on the scoreboard when time ran out. Finishing fifth in the National Preps Wrestling Championships means Carson achieved All-American status--which was one of his goals.

Carson won the heavyweight title in Tennessee which was also a long-time goal. He was captain for McCallie's wrestling team that won its first team dual state championship since 2006 and first traditional team state championship since 1993.

Carson finishes his wrestling career as Tennessee State Individual Heavyweight Champion, State Team Wrestling Dual Champion, State Team Wrestling Traditional Champion, and All-American. He also finished his high school football career as DII-AAA State Champion (his third football State Championship as a four-year starter).

CJH and CRG have been very supportive of Carson's wrestling and are fans of high school offseason wrestling training for all the right reasons.

So, at the end of wrestling season, Carson is in good health, and after a (very) short break to recover, he will resume offseason football training and workouts.

That place didn’t even have A/C. I remember walking outside in the middle of the summer and it felt cooler outside. Car thermometer said 99.

Incredible resume. I think he's going to be a great player at Tennessee.

Hopefully we sign his little brother too.
