Three-star defensive lineman Tre'vonn Rybka of Dickson, Tenn., still is scheduled to announce his decision Tuesday around 1 p.m. Eastern time, and sources have continued to indicate that Kentucky and Tennessee have been the two main contenders for him leading up to his announcement. Both teams have hosted him on at least a few visits this year.
The Vols have recruited him harder than anyone in recent months, and they have continued to battle for him down the stretch. But sources close to his recruitment believe he's leaning toward Kentucky at the moment, and he's currently expected to choose the Wildcats. Even if nothing changes before his announcement, though, the early signing period still is about four months away, and it’s unlikely that Tennessee will stop recruiting him. Getting him back on campus will be key in having a chance to change his mind.
Right now, all signs point to Rybka announcing his commitment to Kentucky on Tuesday. But if anything changes, we will let you know.
Plenty of others still are high on Tennessee’s board and strongly considering the Vols. Omari Thomas and Jay Hardy obviously are two others in-state that they would love to have, and they’re still heavily involved with Octavious Oxendine of Kentucky. They’ve been involved with others, too, including Jacolbe Cowan, Andy Boykin and Jeffrey M’ba. And they still could be a factor with some guys who are committed to other schools. But I think it all starts with the in-state guys.
