'20 TN DL Tre'vonn Rybka (UK commit)

Raw, but has lots of potential. My biggest concern was the idea that there was more "pressure" to stay in-state. Translation could almost sound like "I want to go a school where I won't have to work as hard."

If Rybka choses Kentucky he will be on the losing side of the cats-Vols series during his tenure there. We will move on, not saying we wouldn't take him if we still had a late spot but it may or may not be there at that point. Would love to have him just being a mid state guy but it's not the end of the world. We are going to close strong. JMHO! GBO!!!!

I think the best thing we can do in this recruitment is to bump up Darrell Taylor's draft stock. He's seen UK develop an NFL DL, but hasn't seen our staff at work yet.

Do you think Oxedine is higher up the board than Rybka?
I want to be clear, I have no inside info. I just spend way to much time reading about recruiting.

To answer your question directly, I would think that Oxendine and Rybka would be at about the same spot on the board. I doubt either is significantly higher than the other.

If I had to make an educated guess, our DL board would look something like this:

5 total spots:

Tier 1:
Omari Thomas
Tyler Baron
Jay Hardy

Tier 2:
Dominic Bailey
Trevon Rybka
Octavious Oxendine
Jacolbe Cowan
Deshawn Lynch (Haven't heard his name in while though)

It think the staff holds out 3 spots for those top 3 guys no matter what (if they aren't silents already). Bailey is already committed, so I would take whoever was ready to jump in first out those guys in Tier 2. No way we go past that second tier on DL in this class.

i don't think i realized he's committing tomorrow.

i'll say KY. i think we have other fish we're trying to snag.

that said, i do think he's take, just a guess. but i don't see anyone losing sleep if choosed KY.
I definitely think he was a priority for the staff. He’s even said Tennessee was recruiting him the hardest. If he chooses Kentucky given our need and Tennessee historically kicking their ass then I question his intelligence.

Why even post this? You already know the answer, you are just trying to stir the pot. This staff hasnt had the time yet. Give them a minute and see what is cooking.

Because it was relevant to my initial point that UT needs to develop NFL linemen to help recruiting.

Omari Thomas
Tyler Baron
Jay Hardy
Dominic Bailey
That’s the ones I think they’ve zeroed in on. And a long time ago. Pruitt just wants some assurances and that’s why we were hearing some heat about Rocker. The Gooden injury took away one of those slots.

And I’m sure 3/4 of those eggs are in the basket.

I don't question his intelligence.. You never know what motivates or what he likes or dislikes. I'm not sure how Kentuckys coaches are, but we see how Pruitt coaches... That type of coaching is not for all kids.. If one considers the pressure of a in state kid going to the instate school.. That may be a pressure he doesn't want.. Idk.. I mean I don't get it either.. In state school and playing for coach Pruitt seems to be a no brainer.. Something has sold him on Kentucky it seems..
