We’ve definitely got to do better on recruiting. No doubt about it. Especially if we want to compete for championships

He can get 9 wins out of top 15 classes. There is zero chance he gets fired over 9 win seasons.

Relax. Nothing was suddenly “gotten”, and you weren’t trying to make that point to begin with. You haven’t proven jack.

You were trying to imply that Clemson doesn’t recruit at a high level. Which is flat out wrong.

He was also stacking Top100 recruits on top of one another long before that, and his class rankings were depressed only due to size, not quality. So again, Wrong.

I’ve been following recruiting for a long time. I know how this works.

Our current level is not gonna cut it. And if Pruitt is the guy, he better have it rolling NEXT year. And if you believe otherwise, yea you guessed it.., wrong again.

2 nine win seasons (including bowl) with 6 NFL draft picks, and then went 4-8. I wouldn’t call that stacking 9 win seasons...

Actually you said “after 3 or 4 of em.” But anyway, we weren’t happy because the East sucked and he couldn’t win it. We were the 2nd most talented team in the SEC and couldn’t beat Vandy. And then he went 4-8. Had he went 8-4 in 2017 he would still be here. Still irrelevant to the point I made.

Lol.... RIGHT...Dabo built Clemson up over a period of years getting better recruits as he went. He did not jump in and have national championship caliber teams at the beginning. RIGHT....Pruitt will build Tennessee the right way. The number of years that takes is the only question. RIGHT....Phil didn't ask you. The only question is how much you're
going to moan and groan because you can't have it like you want it..... RIGHT.... You must have missed how Phil built the team up to a national championship team while you were following recruiting. It was the same as Dabo at Clemson. RIGHT.... My point was using Clemson as a role model of having to have top 5 recruiting class by year 3, or you'll never win a NC is not a good idea. Fans were not good with the 2nd 9 win season. Expectations for a
Conference east title and possibly more were expected. We underachieved big time.

Again. He should. As long as real development is taking place. We would be stupid if we fired him for winning 8-9 games a year. If you’re doing that, all it takes is a QB to get over the hurdle. Chances are we’d fire him in that scenario and hire another IBJ.

Yes..... I think we are going to build a solid foundation and then try to compete for championships.... he has already taken the first step and it seems like he has very few straight misses/transfers from his recruits so far.

You think Pruitt is going to be given a 7 year leash like Dabo got? Ok.....

And I wasn’t trying to hold Clemson up as a “blueprint”. You brought them up as someone doing something different ala Auburn.

And maybe you missed what Phil was doing, or you just have no idea what you’re talking about. Fulmer was recruiting at an Elite level from Day One. Landed the Top QB in his 2nd class.

Also went 10-2 in his FIRST year. So don’t try and push some revisionist history that it was a long slow build. It wasn’t.
