'22 TN DT Walter Nolen (Ole Miss)

I mean maybe… but Clemsons QB sucks and is endorsed by Dr. Pepper and Rattler is transferring…… so….
Right, they were highly recruited though. Most of those guys at least pan out as starters or depth. Unless you can offer them NIL deals on par with others you don't get many of those caliber players. It's part of what they are looking for now.

He will commit to them this weekend. He goes every week and already knows what they have to offer. Im sure he is already working business deals At this point. Not saying this as a negative comment, I just believe that is what is happening.
And will decommit when Jimbo leaves for Baton Rouge the week after Thanksgiving.

I don’t see that as a step up. Go live in the swamps and get Louisiana players (who are good but don’t match the talent in Texas) or stay in Texas, have oil money pay as much as you ask for you and your players. He finished top 5 last year and is much better off than LSU today and in the foreseeable future.

Thanks for clarifying. I did not know that each school was allowed to dictate their own compensation amount.
I’m sure there must be a reason why they haven’t done this, but to level the playing field there should be a standard maximum amount allowed by each school. As it is now, you’re right, the only difference between this and a bag man is a legal loophole.
SMH..🤦‍♂️

Compensation can’t come from the school nor can the school or coaches arrange for a players NIL deal. But wink wink nod nod I’m not arranging a deal, but my gosh a booster just walked into my office while I was talking to you, why don’t y’all get to know each other while I go out for lunch.
it’s still a shady business I’m not 100% how it all gets arranged but feel I’m close on how it does. Someone has to set the meet without setting the meet.
I don't know how or why this is even has to be explained..🤷‍♂️ You did pretty well explaining it though.

Yeah, he gets whatever he wants at A&M. Look at their recruiting. He’s building another Georgia/Alabama level team as far as top 5-7 level classes yearly.

Bama and UGA didn’t build into what they are with 5-7 ranked classes. They did it with multiple 1-2 ranked classes.

A&M ain’t even close to that level yet

I hope Jimbo takes the LSU job. It'll stretch the west even thinner.

LSU is one of the best places to land in all of college football. They don't have the recruiting competition that most in the SEC do. There are no other powerhouses near them. The best Louisiana kids end up at LSU; they got loyalty down there that is rare. They pump out NFL talent. The only thing TAM has over LSU is the money, but LSU doesn't have that issue to my knowledge.

Jimbo going there would hopefully land us Nolen.

Yeah and your still gonna have to Contend with soon to be SEC foes in Texas and Oklahoma for Texas kids among others. A&M can't sell the team close to home with SEC exposure anymore. That's why they were pissed off the SEC expanded with Texas and Oklahoma. Not to mention the Kids Bama and UGA wants. It wouldn't shock me if he leaves for LSU. That program is a hell of a lot more capable of winning championships than A&M

I never said they were going to have the #1 class. My point was pretty simple......A&M has more big doners than most.
And, I never said it was all about money. If it does become that way.........
It's definitely NOT an irrelevant point.

They're trying to overtake "Big Brother " in terms of the money going into the program.

Plus there are just MORE Aggie Alumni involved in the football program.

They've been recruiting lights out for 8 years now. Had they still been in the Big 12 during that time, I venture to say they would easily have won 3 to 4 Conference titles during that span. OU would have had an actual rival.

This would be such an interesting time to get nugs from AV. I remember him saying (way before NIL) that our donors were pretty checked out, and getting people to pony up was tough.

I do think guys like him will work well with Danny White to create interest from the big money people. It won’t do much for ‘22, but if we win out and look good doing it, I think a lot of people will get back on board and start writing checks.

You only need enough to go two deep..it is an advantage but if you are multiple top tens, you can beat them.

Can definitely beat them. But A&M wins one game against Bama and all the sudden they’re on the same level? Nah. Last time I checked A&M lost to ARK and MS St this season.

That is because they have the talent, but not the coaching and development. Jimbo is a f'n fraud.

If our staff had A&Ms overall talent I really think they could contend for the NC.
