Would of Beaten Pitt if Hooker doesn’t fumble or throw the interception.
Yes we got screwed by the refs on that 4th down where Hooker undisputedly made the line to gain, but saying that we would of beaten Pitt with Hooker is false, since he did play and had two critical turnovers.
Someone mentioned that Basilio said there’s some boosters getting some big NIL deals together. I think that will be the deciding factor for him. I could be wrong but I think it’s about the $$$ for his familyI give it about 40% chance that he ends up with us. But that's just a feel, so we'll have to see
Always has been about the money, but A&M dropped off a truckload as well. Maybe the A&M DL coach goes to Penn State DC position and it moves the needle, but the bag is deciding the destination.Someone mentioned that Basilio said there’s some boosters getting some big NIL deals together. What athletic QB did we stop? They all ran on us extending drives. The better teams just out played us to the end, because of the inability and depth of course. I agree...but man did we play some really good QBs this year. I don’t think we got lucky this year with our schedule. Not when you have to play these kind of offenses with these athletic QBs. In all my years I can’t think of one year with so many crazy leg gifted QBs.We would have easily beaten Pitt if we had even decent LBs who could stop a QB.
If we start the season with him as the starter, we win that game by at least a couple of TDs. Especially with how the game started. If he isn't tossed in to the middle of the game with no time to get ready I think we're looking at a totally different game, maybe even a runaway. JMO.Hooker entered the Pitt game down 17-13 midway thru the 2nd quarter following a Joe Milton sack and fumble in which Milton was injured. Hooker led a Tennessee team thru the rest of that game that was outscored 24-21. He made some mistakes, and it is impossible to say whether Tennessee would have had enough additional success with Hooker thru the first 1.5 quarters to change the outcome, but he was immediately an upgrade over Milton even with the 2 TOs.
At the end of the day, our defense gave up 27 2nd Q points, which certainly didn't help, and the majority came on drives of...
11 plays/92 yds
5 plays/75 yds
9 plays/75 yds
-VQNow for big Walter….
Nolen will play for the state championship later tonight and then head to campus on Saturday morning. Tennessee is very much still in the mix here but let’s face it we all know this thing is going to really get wild. Visiting this weekend means he could end up somewhere else next weekend like a return trip to College Station. We are most interested to see if he actually signs in the early signing period. We don’t believe that is a slam dunk at this point.
You BO train and bignewt have coffee together? I did forget that a 6'2" 220 lb linebacker from GA is a lot bigger than a 6'2" 220 lb linebacker from Tn.I’ve unfortunately lived in Georgia the last couple years for work (gross I know). But watching some of these games, these mid level squads would wipe the floor with the top of our state Maryville Oakland etc. Its the high school equivalent of SEC vs PAC-12
Everybody knows that a pound if lead us heavier than a pound of feathers. You BO train and bignewt have coffee together? I did forget that a 6'2" 220 lb linebacker from GA is a lot bigger than a 6'2" 220 lb linebacker from Tn.
I think it is about the $$$ for all the top kids. It has to be, I mean they have to know there is no sure path to the NFL, so this is probably their best chance, along with if/when they decide to transfer, to help take care of their family...of course this shouldn't matter so much for the few kids that are from well off families.Someone mentioned that Basilio said there’s some boosters getting some big NIL deals together.
