'19 TN ILB Christopher Russell (Texas A&M signee)

I told everyone a month ago. He left camp without an offer after dominating the camp. He committed to Memphis the next day. He did not hear from Tennessee again until after Auburn offered. Arkansas offered over the summer. Auburn first contacted his coach on October 4th and asked for all film. Auburn talked to him almost daily for a month and he took an unofficial visit to the A&M game. They offered and Tennessee did a week later. You can agree or disagree with it but that’s the main reason.
He kept Tennessee in the mix and was going to visit because of family, pressure and because it’s Tennessee. IMO I think deep down he wanted them to change his mind while he was there. Something was said about him by one of the coaches Wednesday and it got back to him. I don’t know what but it did not go over good. Those are the facts take it or leave it.

How do we know that the coaches said something about him is a fact? If you don’t even know what was said. How do you know it’s a fact? Stop trying to be an insider and let it go man.

Sounds like future trouble avoided. You know what I mean. Like that HIGH Maintenance girl you liked back in the day! Luckily you didn’t end up with her!

He told me and he made a post about it it on Snapchat explaining why he was not going to Tennessee.

A&M or Arkansas. Auburn backed off and he did not visit there.
Makes zero sense. 3 schools offered within 2 weeks, tam after us. I ain’t buying the BS yall Dyersburg folks are trying to sell. We’ll end up getting the truth soner or later from one of the trusted posters in the know.

Don't wish bad on the kid but he's been pissed at TN since his camp and no offer. I don't get why a kid holds the home state school to a higher standard but im sort of glad he's going elsewhere. We've had enough of the self entitled attitudes the last few years.

I see no reason why it matters that he isn't accepting an offer to play at TN if indeed he positively had one, only that he isn't accepting and that's that but I guess inquiring minds want to know. He's not playing for TN and that's it case closed !

I do find it rather odd though that he allegedly wanted to come to TN had a committable offer from TN and it's coaching staff and now would rather play elsewhere because of something allegedly said by the same coaches offering him a full ride ? Not saying it isn't so because I have no clue, but that is strange and a bit childish if true.

Didn"t the Auburn coaches make him mad as well and that is why he didn't visit them? I honestly dont care if the kid goes elsewhere. Just seems extremely odd that so many things are so offensive to him.

I don't believe for one second he "dominated" a camp, and didn't get an offer. Roman Harrison "dominated" a camp and received one...Elijah Simmons "dominated" and received one...Melvin McBride "dominated" and received one...Chris Akporoghene "dominated" and received one...and I'm sure others did, as well. What was it about Russell's domination the coaches missed? Nothing.

I'm not going to run this kid down, I wish him all the best; but, he was a backup plan to Owen Pappoe, just like he was for Auburn (Auburn only offered, AFTER Pappoe started trending our way). I believe that UT was NEVER in it, because he WAS sore about not receiving that offer, after what HE thought was a dominating performance; but, obviously, Pruitt disagreed. Again, I wish the kid all the best in the world. The Vols will be fine.

Good points. If ESD were NSD, he'd be at Memphis. With that said, I hope he busts Bama in the mouth and has a stellar college experience.
