Have you heard the wife’s interview?
From what I read on ESPN I would not be surprised if this blows over and Meyer keeps his job. But then again I am sure that the emergency room staff at Wexler OSU Medical Center are probably looking at who is the current cardiologist on call.

He lied bro. Last week at media days he said he didn't know anything about this. Now there's proof he did. Years ago.

He gone.

I'm still trying to find where he was caught lying. Do you have a link to this? All I see in the article is that his wife said she would tell him and then they are not sure if she did.

"Shelley said she was going to have to tell Urban," Courtney Smith said. "I said: 'That's fine, you should tell Urban.' I know Shelley did everything she could."

But in the Stadium interview, Courtney Smith said that Shelley Meyer never confirmed that she told her husband about the abuse.

"She did not. She did not," Courtney Smith said of Shelley Meyer. "She would reach out to me, ask me how I'm doing, tell me she was worried, if I needed anything, she was there."

He doesn’t have to be found guilty of anything to be put on PAID leave. He’s not in jail. He’s not being deprived of due process.

I get that but it can be very detrimental to his career. If he is not guilty, this adds the appearance that he is.

If you read the story there is almost no doubt that he knew.
Are you referring to the article in the above link? If so, I do not see anything that proves he did. Maybe he did. It looks bad for sure but I just don't like where the MeToo movement BS has taken us.

His wife is also an OSU employee and faces an obligation to report known allegations of abuse.

Urban is either gonna have to fess up and probably get fired or throw his wife under the bus.

No, but has Urban been found guilty of anything? Anyone can be accused.
He’s not going to be criminally charged. He is going to be ground zero during a Title IX investigation...remember those? We got him employing, knowing and lying about knowing the activities of a wife beater. Lot of outcry to fire Butch over (allegedly) calling a player a “traitor”. Think about it.

No it doesn’t. There is nothing penal about this while the university does its due diligence. If he’s cleared, this will not have any more impact than his shady dealings at Florida.

The man beat his wife for years and it led to a divorce. Urban knew about it and looked away. They're both scumbags and shouldn't coach another game the rest of their sorry lives.

That's a good point.

LOL

I believe I found Murphy's comments but nothing that proves Urban knew. Again, it will be his word against hers in the end.

From this article:
Fired coach's ex: Some near Meyer knew of case

Urban Meyer said July 24 that he was aware of the 2009 incident and that he and Shelley "got involved" by talking to the Smiths after police finished their investigation. Meyer said he called his boss after learning about it and then waited to hear back from the investigators. He said the recommendation made to him at that time was counseling for Smith and to move forward.

Meyer also said what he was told about the incident in 2009 was different from the details of the report that came to light Monday.

I think this will be the deciding factor... there might not be any tangible evidence of Urban having been told by his wife but the point remains.

One or both of them should be fired (per title 9 terms within their employment contract). I'd assume both go down as the university tries to save face.

I read the story and it is very evident that his wife knew but he will lie and say that she did not mention it.
Therefore throwing his wife under the bus. I don't put it past him one bit.
