i couldnt ask for a better start temperature wise with it being in the mid-50s, patterson began. the visit went great. Coach (bill) davis and coach (urban) meyer were so clear on how they would grow me as a player and person. That means a lot to me and my family. Coach meyer can reach out to any person and get you an internship. He talked about what a great real life wednesday program they had (today).
patterson has been to ohio state before with both his mother and father. This time his father made the trip with him. my dad really liked it too, patterson said. ive been there three times now. Really, ohio state has everything i want from football to academics to what they can do for you.
decision time is getting near for patterson. He has narrowed his long list of scholarship offers down to ohio state, alabama, tennessee and texas a&m. i have three more visits, texas a&m june 15, alabama june 22, and tennessee, but i dont have that date yet, patterson said. "it's four schools. I feel i could announce any day this summer, whenever it feels right, patterson said.
SimontonDon't want this to get misconstrued: Vols would like Patterson to workout in front of staff same for many other guys with offers but that's not going to happen since he's coming off his knee injury. Tennessee's staff DEFINITELY likes Kane, he talks to Sherrer regularly. But will they go all in over the next few weeks before he makes a decision? Time will tell.
C.P.A. linebacker Kane Patterson was back on Tennessee's campus yesterday. The 4-star ILB has developed a good relationship with Kevin Sherrer. Patterson is nearing a decision. He's back (or scheduled to be) at Alabama today.
Tennessee, Bama, Ohio State are the three main teams battling here, with Texas A&M a wildcard.
i brought my dad the past two times, so i wanted to bring my mom to show her the place and just introduce her and let her get to know all the new coaches there i mean, really, everybody, the whole new staff at tennessee, said patterson. i just wanted her to know them and get to know them and see the new facilities and just kind of tour the campus.
it was awesome, just getting to spend more time with coach pruitt and just kind of learn more about him and who he is and just his past, patterson said. and same with coach sherrer, just kind of seeing his past, too.
its crazy that him and pruitt have kind of been on and off coaching (together) for, like, 25 years. They started out at hoover (high school in alabama) together, which is cool that now theyve made it all the way back together. Theyve just been with and without each other for a long time, which is pretty cool, and now to see that theyve landed back together is really cool. "and then (they) just introduced my mom to all the other coaches and the strength staff, too.
as you already look at the 2019 class, my class right now, and just how theyre recruiting that, it seems like each week theres another big four-star committing there, patterson said, "so theyre getting the players to be able to do that.
he said the people at tennessee remain the most appealing aspect of the vols program. i just really like the people that theyve brought in there, just all the way around, patterson said. i really like (pruitt and sherrer) a whole lot, and then just the strength people like, strength and conditioning, trainers, academics, you name it. Theyve really got everything in place.
