Kiffin in hindsight wasn't in the same hemisphere as Fulmer and Pruitt. Everyone he brought in was gone within 2 years, arrested, or just didn't really pan out. Everyone thought the 2 kids from SC that we went on probation for were going to be world beaters. One never played a down, and the other was serviceable, but not a star. Bryce Brown wouldn't have been a bust if he stayed, but ego... And didn't Janzen Jackson end up driving around with his step dad in the trunk of his car for a week after he murdered him? I don't get the Kiffin love at all.

For all his faults...dude can flat out prepare a team. We had Bama beat with that rag tag bunch he inherited.

If you believe this you're nuts. Kiffin had like 4 or 5 national recruiter of the year guys. He had the best I've seen assembled probably ever at UT.

Man. Kiffin had three or four of the best used car salesmen on planet Earth. You should read Meat Market if you dont believe me. You may be in sales, but, i can speak as a qualified authority to this. Relationship vs transactional sales in a real thing. There are people who are good at one, or the other. One takes planning and the other is pure personality driven. The rare breed is good at both.

When i say we have best recruiters, i meant what i said. Ive been following this **** for a long, long time, as many have. This is the best staff outside of Fulmers. Trooper was best of his day.

Look at what they did last year. Think about that. They grabbed a top 15 class selling a crap win-loss record. And got #2 guy in state this year and may end up with #1 guy.

Look man this is not up fir debate. Kiffin, Orgeron, Eddie Gran, Lance Thompson, Frank Wilson all NROY guys then Chaney Old man Kiffin, and Willie Mack they were hand picking guys and were not here long at all and had the class they had. Please on this staff you hv CJP and Tee as NROY guys and that's it. I don't gv a damn about abook i was around and saw the giys who camped and took OVs. We haven't seen anything close to that staff my friend. This staff hasmore teachers than anything which is what is needed due to the elite kids not really wanting to rebuild but having that wanting to win now mentality.

Sorry to inform you but 95% of college coaches are dirty scumbags. Coaching/ recruiting is a filthy dirty world. Come out of your fantasy world boss. Ed O is highly regarded as a DL coach and known as a by any means necessary recruiter. Not many like him if he's not at your school of choice. But well respected amongst coaches.

Garner was a damn machine for Fulmer back in the day.

Orgeron is a piece of trash but kids love him. Kiffin had a hellacious recruiting staff and they were dirty as hell.

Better than Fulmer's too. Consider...Pruitt, Nieds (RotY), Tee (RotY), Ansley, Chaney, Weinke. I don't think we've seen a recruiting staff like this in modern times. Give us some winning seasons and we could reel off #1 classes sooner than later.

Pruitt, Tee, Neids won it last year I believe, Ansley hasn’t won it but was close a couple of times. I agree Kiffin had a better recruiting staff but this one is pretty damn good as well.

If all coaches try to convince players to not attend class and transfer with them after recruiting them to their former school, they really are all scumbags.

My friend let me explain to you something very carefully about being a coach. When you work so hard to build a relationship with a kid and the HC and staff leave 8/10 times they reach out to the kids to follow them because kids are going because of the coach and system vs the school of choice when a school is not Clemaon, tOSU, UGA or Alabama. Many of UT fand can't separate business from fandom to see the real. The circumstances in which Kiffin took over was worse than when CJP took over, and they used walk on OL, Crompton, etc and won 7 games and also had #8 recruiting class. The biggest issues when CJP took over were culture and tweener OL/DL. Now the players left over from CPF were better coached vs the Lyle Jones players. So ijs you have to really be fair despite the departure.
