'21 TN OLB Junior Colson (Michigan commit)

Gonna be a Vol. Bet this is why things have seemed to cool with Brown. Dunno if guy ends up with Vols in 11 days, but come signing time, he will be.

I really think this is going to be another Orr situation where the guardians don’t budge. It just has that feel to it. Literally every comment about his recruitment on every site I’ve read whether it’s a UT site or another teams mentions this situation. I know we have a few posters on here close to him through NPA so maybe they can shed some light on the situation.

You have to realize how incredibly douchey Michigan alums are about the academics at Michigan. I know several people who went there and they seriously never shut up about it. If guardians went there, I'm sure it's the same story.

This is so true. My god I’ve dealt with a few Michigan parents over the years and it’s all they talk about. Never heard people care so much or brag so much about “college academics” at a public university. A degree from there or any other public university is one in the same. Unless your maybe an Ivy League school bragging about college academics doesn’t make sense.

Yeah, you talk to a Michigan grad long enough they would have you think an Oxford degree is a step down.

You have to be pretty ignorant to think that the athletes that go to Michigan are held to the same academic standards as their regular students. Michigan recruits from the same pool of athletes every other NCAA school recruits from. And we know that the process has to be different for these kids to academically succeed. So please tell me how their diploma has more significance than any other school.

I think you misunderstood what I was saying. Like Montrell, I know several Michigan grads and they have a vastly exaggerated sense of the value of a Michigan diploma. They act like it’s in the same vein as a Harvard or Yale degree, when, in reality, Michigan is just a good public school.

I mean, sure, it tends to get good rankings and all, but it doesn’t carry half the cache of an Ivy League or Oxbridge degree.

No, I am pretty much supporting your post and adding another point to contend their claim of superiority.

I think Jr is truly torn just because he doesn’t really want to attend Michigan. After Walker M committed to us it really gave him something to think about because him and Walker are super tight but his parent imo aren’t fans of UT. He’s a shy kid too and moving up to Michigan (distance and cold) maybe to much of a culture shock for him. Just to add if Alabama, Georgia or Clemson offers watch out. He camped at UGA last year and left without a offer l know personally that hurt him because he’s a UGA fan.

of course he is.....smh.....

Haven't yall ever seen the blind side? This kid is going to Michigan!

As many others have said we are fine at LB this class any way!

I think this kid would have already committed to the Vols if he didn’t guardians standing in the way, follow the visits.
agreed. siap, i've talked myself in to believing that if he's not in the boat at least by the end of this month, he's probably out for good.....

I may be wrong, but didn't he say he was planning on announcing on the 19th? This was awhile back so he could've backed off of that by now.

On the Volquest podcast this morning, AP said if Colson commits this month then it will be the VOLS. AP made it sound like Colson wants to go to UT.

Really hope the Guardians step back and let the kid make up his own mind. Really want to see him in Orange.

Lewis, Willis, Colston. Um, yes please.

Same as Georgia Tech unless the kid desires and can handle the more rigorous classes. A guy like Josh Dobbs for example.
