It wasn't a rugged Division II-AAA East Region game for Brentwood Academy, but it was a must-win for new coach Paul Wade and four-star quarterback George MacIntyre. Staring at the possibility of a 0-2 start, Wade made no secret he was going for it. With MacIntyre given the green light to take shots downfield, the Tennessee football commit had 278 yards passing, leading Brentwood Academy to a 16-6 victory over rival Brentwood on Friday.

It was not a perfect game by any stretch. Brentwood Academy (1-1) got into the red zone four times and came away with one touchdown and three field goals from Stanford commit London Bironas. But MacIntyre was efficient, hitting on four deep balls that caught Brentwood Academy receivers in stride. He finished the game 18-of-23.

Watched the game on NFHS tonight. His downfield passing remains great but if I had to make a legitimate knock on him it would be that he makes that his thing. He’s gotta learn to take what’s underneath and not go for the big play every single play. That became pretty evident when he ignored some easier throws in the red zone where the field shrinks. Was the difference in 3 TDs and 3 FGs. Outside of that looked pretty good pushing the ball down the field. Also had a dot to KeSean Bowman that Bowman ended up scoring on that was called back

That is very easy to coach out of him.
