Ideally, Merk is an absolute stud, starts in 2026 and 2027, then goes pro. Then Brandon takes over in 2028 as a RSSo. I’m not predicting that, but that’s best case for UT.

I like Merk a lot and think it will take a very special talent to beat him out. Either way, we’re in great shape at QB.

Chewing out his teammates in the CPA game after he screwed up also wasn’t impressive.

But he might mature.

I’m not doing this. It was 4 months ago. Go back and watch it if you’re that interested, but you’re not giving me homework.

I’m not making up reasons to be concerned about the best instate QB recruit we’ve signed in my lifetime. I saw what I saw and it concerned me.

Not being a smart ass. I literally do not remember the time, quarter, and score from an incident 4 months ago. It seems like an odd thing to ask someone to remember that, then when they don’t (and refuse to conduct research on the matter), assume they’re being a smartass.

Without looking, can you tell me the time, quarter, and score of Mac’s 1st INT against CPA? Because I can’t. But I know he threw it.

And you being on the sideline wouldn’t improve your view. Mac yelling at the kid happened on the field.

My guess would be second quarter and score would’ve been 7-7 or so. (I’m throwing **** against the wall)

Maybe Peyton did. And maybe it’s nothing to worry about. But yelling at your teammates while you’re playing like ass is a bad look. He was playing like ass in that game.

GMac apparently improved as the season went on and played well in the Polynesian Bowl. I’m glad because I had serious concerns after the CPA game. His head never moved when he dropped back. He went through one read and the guy was either open or he forced an INT. His arm talent and athleticism are undeniable. If Heupel can coach up the mental part and if he can put on small child’s worth of weight, he could be a good QB at UT.

I hope so. It would be cool to have a Tennessee kid who grew up a Vol fan QBing the team to a title.
