'22 TN QB Ty Simpson (Alabama commit)

You had better hope so. As much as you've trashed him, you'll get a firestorm of abuse if it turns out to be legit info.

At the time of the commitment I preferred Jackson and still do. The only interest I would have in Simpson would be if we there is tag along highly related recruits and I think the ship has already sailed there.

No one here CARES if Simpson flips. We have our QB now. Especially, when he wasn't even giving this staff the time of day. Now, you're looking for a bone or craps?

I care. I want the best players possible. Simpson is ranked higher than Jackson for a reason. You can't hold grudges in recruiting or you'll get fired.

This one is good though. He seems to have some in here actually believing there is a chance Simpson flips.

For the love of mankind.

For one, I don’t think Ty flips. Two, I think it is possible Tayven is a better product for our system. Three, I think it presents bad optics if Ty wanted in, UT wanted Ty and Tayven is left by the wayside.

All of this being said, the way VQ handled this made it seem like there was potentially smoke. Especially in conjunction with the Trey Teague tweet and the way CJH has the Vols playing above their weight class. Just because some of us believe there actually might be some smoke here does not mean we think Ty is flipping, that he is better, etc.

How did the way VQ handle it made it seem like there was smoke? Where did Hubbs and AP give any indication that there was smoke?

Way to deflect from the point I was trying to make.

While I don’t frequent or even visit VQ anymore (used to be a member), since when do they nuke a thread that is false unless it involves politics, etc? So I guess I found that odd. I also found it odd in regards to the screenshots asking for the poster not to post about it. While I didn’t scrutinize these screenshots too much, that too seemed odd (if true). Pair this with the Trey Teague tweet and the fact the kid is born/raised in Jackson, which bleeds orange, I felt like that was enough info to be considered smoke.

Fair enough. I disagree but it’s all good. I wonder if Heupel would even want him in all honesty.

What?? Rehabilitated ? For real, dude won like 29 of 30 at Bama. Only lost his job to 1 of the only 2-3 QBs in college that was better

JG could win 29 of 30 at Bama. He lost his job to a freshman. There was a reason for that, and it wasn't because he was doing well.

For the same reason JT Daniel was rated higher than Stetson Bennett? Or maybe for the same reason Hunter Johnson was rated higher than Hendon Hooker?

I don't know which kid will be the better college QB. You don't either. I do know that the rankings you're citing as an authority are pretty hit and miss.

What has VQ done? All I've seen is Hubbs repeating that Ty hasn't spoken with the staff since he committed and he (Hubbs) hasn't spoken to the dad.

And if they did delete threads...how likely is it was because...someone...was flooding the board with repetitive posts? Maybe not, but that seems most likely.

Bailey was a 5 star. Don’t care about rankings with QB’s. I care about who Heupel wants and signs.
HB was only a "5 star" on ONE site...and that rating was pushed by ONE man...the one...the only...Spoons "Trey Smith is overrated" Farrell.

Other than that, yeah I agree.

Though sometimes there's a difference between who a coach would love to have and who they'll keep investing time in recruiting, especially once committed and other things we may not be aware of. I mean, I'm sure this staff would love the top 25 ranked 5 *s...doesn't mean that's who they're spending time talking to.
