'22 TN QB Ty Simpson (Alabama commit)

The problem with a lot these QBs these days and why we get so many overrated busts is you have too many so called QB gurus teaching these kids to be robots that look pretty in 7 on 7 but can’t make the plays when things break down. That was JGs biggest issue he was a robot that spent too much time thinking about his mechanics than what he was seeing in front of him. Sometimes you just need to play. One of the things I like about TY is he can make those plays when things go sideways in the pocket.

Media rankings are right more often than they are wrong

When it comes to QBs, they’re wrong quite a bit. Maybe not for the #1 QB in the class but look at QB ratings year by year on 247 and you’ll be shocked how often guys who are in the top 10 didn’t pan out.

“Yawn” I’ll be back in December, Jan. Things pretty boring as of now as far as recruiting. Got some big games to finish next few weeks and then see what pieces fall from there. GBO

Ya. That’s a total craps shoot. And it’s because what makes a qb is their ability to process a ton of information quickly. That’s what accounts for going through progressions and making the right ready and also pocket awareness and escapability. All they can evaluate at a camp is their size and arm strength. Which matters so for sure. But not if they can’t first do the mental part really well. It’s really the only position where the mental component is more important than the physical.
