'22 TN QB Ty Simpson (Alabama commit)

I don't know anything here but my gut tells me he was committing to the Vols and is postponing due to uncertainty with our coaching staff. Seems like ours to lose, and like the past 15 years we always find new ways to get kicked in the nuts.

Or he’s looking for a reason to commit to the Vols but hasn’t found one yet

I think this uncertainty surrounding Pruitt is causing some major problems. Fulmer and the powers that be need to make a decision and soon. Either fire him and announce a new HC. Or give the reassurance that he is 100% staying next year.

I’m getting tired of being kicked in the nuts.

Much of the talk on the Generals Quarters this week has been around Ty Simpson. He will be the straw that stirs the drink for the class of 2022. Pruitt worked the instate class really hard this week talking not just to Simpson but to many of the prospects in state as it’s a very good year in Tennessee. Dallan Hayden had a long talk with him and that was positive as Hayden plans on playing running back in college. Both Notre Dame and Ohio State have been pushing that position for him.

At this point, if TN is keeping Pruitt - and assuming Tee Martin is out - shouldn’t they look at hiring Jason Simpson as WR Coach?

QBs coach imo
No, AP made a good point in that how can any other qb think the coach will put Salters interest above Ty’s? I don’t think Jason would ever screw over a kid but that seed of doubt is easily planted if your name isn’t ty. Receiver coach would be an ideal spot.

Has Osovet ever coached Wide Receivers? If Tee leaves, moving Osovet there and having Simpson be the Tight End coach as he enters FBS might be a good start. Would Jason Simpson help with in state recruiting? He's been at Martin a long time.

I’d let Osovet coach qb’s. He’s an RPO wizard. Chaney get TE’s and honestly have Fulmer coach O-Line if he was willing to take double duties. Use that free money and pay the best D-Line coach out there a 1 million to come coach.. Bo Davis type.
