Weird. They said Clemson was third earlier. I took that to mean BAMA 1 us 2 clemson3. Either way it’s not good. But whatever. Over this as long as Pruitt is the coachSounds like we are running third behind Bama and Clemson. Got to get this kid. Top player in the state outside of Nolan and biggest position of need in a town full of Tennessee fans. Problem is....we don’t win games = no momentum on the trail
In the 2022 class, it will be interesting to see where and when Ty Simpson commits. This continues to be a three-team race with Alabama having a lot of momentum in our opinion. Jeremy Pruitt works Ty as hard as anyone that has a legitimate shot to land the Martin, Tn. native. So where is Clemson? In our opinion they have surged a little bit as they are the safest option in terms of staff continuity
Some people have suggested that Simpson picking Alabama would be hard for the strong Tennessee town of Martin to swallow which makes Clemson a safe alternative. As you look from the outside, you have the in-state school with a struggling offense and coaching questions battling two teams that will likely do battle for another National Championship.
-VQNow the one thing Simpson will have to weigh in the Vols’ favor is the fact that they aren’t likely to be able to recruit past Simpson as Clemson and Alabama can continually bring in top quarterbacks because of where their programs are.
Tennessee needs to focus hard on the instate talent for 2022 as this class could be the game changer for this program.
Ty Simpson
Walter Nolen
Dallan Hayden
Cam Miller
Kody Jones
Jordan James
Isaiah Horton
Barion Brown
Fisher Anderson
Keaten Wade
Destin Wade
Anthony Brown
Jacob Hood
Kaydin Pope
Taylor Groves
Karsen Gay
-VQThe Wade Twins are leaders. They have an IT factor in our opinion and they can play multiple positions. Kaydin Pope is dynamic and as solid as they come. Jacob Hood is an intriguing prospect once he lost the weight. It’s a year filled with skill players much like 2017 was when the Vols missed out on Jacob Phillips, Jacoby Stevenson, Tee Higgins and Amari Rogers. Simply put, there are so many good players it’s hard to see them striking out in state but it starts with Simpson and they need to find a way to land him.
hopefully not this one

Absolutely nothing to do with Pruitt hate, and everything to do with he $6¡77y product that was put on the field.

Nobody has a defense worth a damn these days. Did you not watch the sec championship? It's all about high powered offense now. If/When we get one, is when we start competing again. Thank God JG is gone.Wow. So if we get a great QB, all of a sudden we will get an elite pass rush? Our LBs will magically know how to react in pass coverage? The DBs will learn how to defend a slant?
Just trying to get somebody to bite.... All the dust will settle before he signs and we probably have a shot whoever is here. But wrong scheme by a newbie could be costly. There are some guys out there this cycle that could be impacted by negative atmosphere we have right now. Once we have a good idea what is going down we have time to hold on to some and gain some as long as any new coach if that is the plan, has some relationships on guys we want here.
Coming from a 731 VN member, Ty has been raised a smart young man. Good family values. He would add class to the program. Stay at home with our beloved program, lead us back !Only scheme I’d worry about like that would be Chadwell’s. I really think a Freeze or Sarkisian hire would actually increase our odds of landing Simpson quite a bit. Napier’s offense has been more productive in his 3 years at the helm than anything Pruitt has fielded at UT, and I’m pretty sure he coaches QB’s himself.
Being the son of a reputable coach, I’d bet Simpson has people around him that can help him to block out the noise and focus on variables that matter like on-field production, development, etc.
