'22 TN QB Ty Simpson (Alabama commit)

It's interesting that he was apparently willing to play in an offense that is the opposite of QB friendly but...I guess we'll see. I do like what's on campus though.

we all of a sudden have ncaa troubles. yea know as much as this will hurt us. just hard to really care at this point

It may hurt us and it may not. Also these troubles have been known. Like I said, he could have committed whenever he wanted. Yet he didn’t. He could easily pick TN.

Blue-chip QB Ty Simpson previews his college decision

Tennessee: “I love the state, the program and the relationship I have started with Coach (Josh) Heupal I’m very impressed with.

Simpson’s father summarized what Ty is looking for in a school.
“I think his development, feel for the staff, the style of play, those were things we kept going back and forth on and kept coming up.”

Also mentioned Jimbo Fishers son plays for his dad and “we’ll win a national championship there” 😬

I think he was already planning on being a vol before the change. Add a new coach who is know for great offense and QB development... timeline seems fine to me.

I'm going with this. All that I have ever seen him saying is that he just needed a reason to come here. I think a great offensive Head Coach would be just what the doctor ordered. If he likes our assistant hires, then I think he is in. If not, then maybe he re-thinks it and goes elsewhere, but I think he is ours to lose at this point.

Historically, a quick decision like this would go against Tennessee, but I don't think it will this time.
