'22 TN QB Ty Simpson (Alabama commit)

Blue-chip QB Ty Simpson previews his college decision
“It’s been a long process,” the elder Simpson said. “I give Ty credit, he’s talked to a lot of people and asked a lot of questions, prayed about it a lot, looked at the best situation for him for the next forty years and me and his mom are there to support him.”

This makes me think Vol. He's a Tennessee boy. VN has already supported him up to this point. If he comes here it doesn't even matter if he balls out or not, VN will love him and support him in whatever profession he chooses until the day he dies.

That doesn’t sound good. In his interview with AP he was literally talking about how Clemson is a place you bring your family and come back to in 40 years. Verbatim

It's a shame he didn't give this staff a chance
How do you know he's not giving the staff a chance? Where are you pulling this from?

If he set a date, then he knows where he’s going. If he goes somewhere other than UT after one phone call with the HC, then no, he did not give the new staff a chance.

Technically, I believe it was Joey Matthews, but Andy Kelly was a multiple year starter.

BJ Coleman was on the team, but left when Cutcliffe left I think.

Coleman left after Kiffin’s only spring practice when he couldn’t beat out Crompton. I remember the excuse from X on Basilio was some rumor that Monte thought he was easier to scheme against than Crompton tfwiw.

None of the “insiders” know anything!!! AP just 2 days ago says I expect Roc to sign wednesday and then this story comes out that he hasn’t been a take by either staff for months. And how many other recruits have they been dead wrong about?? I’m closing the door on these reported damn opinions. Unless it’s straight from the recruits mouth, it ain’t worth nothin!

All that said, does this one not have a stinky Clemson stench to anyone else? Hope he chooses Vols! “Lock down the state” we’ll see.

I hope Ty chooses the Vols. If not, he is like many before him who went elsewhere. I wish him well. He should go where he feels it is best for his future.

It will take CJH time to turn the ship around for kids to choose their home state university. He deserves that time. It's not his fault that we have experienced a string of coaching and UT officials' failures for over 15 years. It can stop now. We can help by lifting people up instead of tearing them down.

Your scenario had a lot of "ifs" in it, however his statement of not giving the staff a chance was stated as fact. See the issue here?

They aren’t even same class so don’t know why this was a topic they are discussing anyway. People get wrapped up in its Peytons nephew like TN will be a big factor. He may be his nephew but it’s Coopers boy. Copper is a rebel through and through that saw his playing career end before it got started. People shouldn’t be surprised if the kid takes that into account and lives out his dads legacy at Ole Miss. LSU wouldn’t be suprising either depending on how that offense is years from now.

There is likely no way Lane misses out on Arch but yeah LSU depending on the state of their program could be a factor too. The Manning love Ole Miss and Lane is a qb's dream coach. Only thing in question with Ole Miss is whether or not someone bigger would come calling for Lane. I unlike most don't count last season as a negative for any coach because of covid. Ppl never look at reality and see that only 3 out of 14 teams in the SEC won 6 games or more LOL.

Alabama, UGA, FL, AU, and A&M won 6 or more. There’s just not a lot of good coaching in the SEC and we got rid of the worst one thankfully.

Ty,

If you read this please consider:

1. The deep tradition of UT Football
2. The players who have cemented their legacy in being Volunteers
3. The fanbase is without doubt, one of the best in the country
4. Be a part of the rebuilding, bring you talent, your drive and be the best at UT

Stay home young man and stamp your legacy with the Proud, Faithful Vol Nation. GBO
Alrighty Sab.

naw my friend having contact tracing of whole player groups, etc hampered the coaching. The conference had just finished the yr before with the most wins as a conference in bowls. Stop looking too deep buddy as well as UT going 7-5 but all you know how to do is judge the covid season

Possibly but I’d be shocked if Heupel is worse. It was year three under pruitt and guy’s on his defense still couldn’t line up
Bra said he didnt even interview, just got the job...

Also, how do we not have any info, none about a DC? Has Steele even interviewed?

Dont have the whole story but so far...😬

Coaching wasn’t hampered because it was never good. Pruitt, from a coaching standpoint, was a moron when he got to UT and a moron when he left. He never learned how to manage the clock, especially in the middle 8. His guys constantly struggled to line up for three years and his defense got beat the same way every week. Hilarious to me that he was considered a “guru”.

As far as players, you know better than me that great players can overcome bad coaching. We didn’t have any great players this past year. Schools all around the country were able to overcome the covid season. Our guys folded as the year went on. Had zero dogs on this team. No leadership from players or coaches
